I was over at my brother in laws place this evening and witnessed something that unless I was mistaken, was an error on Absolute poker.

He was playing in a SNG, and wasn't involved in the hand. Here's what went down:

Player 1 has JsJc
Player 2 has AhTd

They both ended up all in preflop.

The board ended up being all spades. Ks Qs Ts 5s 2s

The pot was split between the 2 players, the message said they both had a King high flush.

Wouldn't the Js that Player 1 had make his flush a better hand?

What were the stack sizes? I've been fooled by that before. They don't put enough details in the dealer comments at A.P. Example: If one guy shoves 3000 and one guy calls for his whole stack of 1000, A.P's comments don't say anything about kickers, etc. It just says 1 guy gets 2000 (the uncalled overage) and the other guy gets 2000 (the win).

I could be wrong, but I think it would be pretty hard to have a program glitch that would mess up just a specific situation like that. The glitch would be more widespread.

If the actual pot was split evenly between the two players then yes, it's a mistake - the player holding Js has a higher flush.

I suspect what's actually happened is what MrSticker has described above though: they've just been ambiguous in their wording and delayed returning the overcall to the player with the bigger stack.

Not that I'm exactly comfortable leaping to Absolute Poker's defence, but this would have been noticed a long time ago if it were the case.

There was an issue a few months back with AP ranking certin razz hands incorrectly, but this is an entirely different kettle of fish.

edit: goddammit I used my 7,000th post defending AP /suicide
