what are the probabilities of having a straight and a flush seperately in Texas Holdem? Before I knew the rules I thought straight was more difficult to make and should be a higher hand then a flush. But flush beats a straight as we all know but how come? Does anybody know the probabilities for each one? A flush and a straight?

i know that after the flop if you have 4 suits ur...2-1 on a flush. if you have a gutshot and and all 4 of your outs are in the deck i think its 16 percent. then after the turn 4 percent. i have no clue about both at the same time... i hit a straight flush earlier today tho.

I don't know the exact odds, but it is more rare to get a flush than a straight in poker.
The exact probabilities might be in here somewhere.
