888poker $3000 Roulette Freeroll being replaced?

I noticed the new Blast Spin Wheel and no listings for more $3000 roulette Tournaments, but looks like being replace with $3000 Blast Freeroll (pay first 600 places a $5 Blast ticket).
What do you think about changes?

Don't they basically just change name in this freeroll cause it is still just another freeroll with same prizemoney(3k $) - although now only less people can get something but still ...

Also, it looks like whether you are #1 or #600, you get the same $5 Blast ticket prize. Maybe I am reading it wrong, but that seems to not make it interesting once you get to #600. Plus, I often can get to #1099 out of the 10,000; but not too often make it in the top #600. My best was #182 yesterday.

I thought that at first as well as I only saw one at 14:00, but I see they added a 20:00 $3000 Lucky Blast also. So, it looks like here will be two every day like the Roulette freeroll.

That's unfortunate! I used to min cash the $3,000 Roulette freeroll many times for $0.30 but very rarely made it into the top 600! I was really depending on these freerolls to grow my bankroll too. Oh well!!

Yes, similar for me as it was helping me grow bankroll some as well.
Also if I had a losing session on NL2/1 cash tables; I would not feel quite as bad because I would think to myself I can replenish with some $3000 roulette min cash wins.

Well first Lucky Blast over, and I did ok getting within 900 out of #12580 which would normally be .60 min cash and I would be happy to use for some cash games.
But instead nothing.....

I guess 888 is just changing it up a bit. Hopefully I can make it to the 600 players. Sure will make a way shorter game. And if you can get a $5 blast ticket, you can hopefully win and boost your bankroll. Also noticing them changing up the regular freerolls a lot.

1276th out of 16904 with about an hour spent for nothing!

Starting to evaluate if these are even worth playing!

I'm usually going there to play like in a beast mode don't care will hit something or no because game mode is to hard to get the win done with playing my usual game

yesterday there were 16k players and only 600 payed places, and i have 7 unused tickets for $3000 Roulette Tournament

If they want to promote Blast tickets and use for prize pool, I think a better distribution of the $3000 would be something like:


1-300 = $5 Blast Ticket
301-1300 = $1 Blast Ticket
1201-6200 = .10 Blast Ticket

That would allow many more people to play Blast regularly and probably get more repeat customers, thus making 888 more money in the end while making the torunament players happy at the same time.

The key thing is even the $5 do not assure us any money.
Then we must use this $5 ticket in a Bingo style tourney to win most of the time $10. But, there is very less chance of it because of the Allins nature of the Blast tourney in the end and can suddenly put us at negative outcome even we are chipleaders...

I think 888 has offered this freeroll to promote its Blast games as conventional players will prefer to play in a $5.5 Big fish tourney rather than $5 bingo style Blast game.

I agree about the bingo style of Blast. It would be ok if there were more available tickets to win at the tournament, because you would win tickets much more regularly and then also the Blast occasionally even if a lesser Blast ticket like $1 or even .10. Anytime you win, there is at least some excitement which makes you feel good about where you are playing.
But with only 600 tickets out of sometimes 15,000 players - when you finally win one and it comes to nothing because of the Blast style bingo play - seems like a way to frustrate 888 players instead of encouraging them to play more Blast and poker in general.

After looking at what Blast Tickets are offered at 888, maybe an even better $3000 distribution that would be a little more similar to the previous cash prize pool would be:

($100) #1 = $100 Blast Ticket
($270) #2-10 = $30 Blast Ticket
($450) #11-40 = $15 Blast Ticket
($1300) #41-300 = $5 Blast Ticket
($700) #301-1000 = $1 Blast Ticket
($280) 1001-2800 = .10 Blast Ticket

Well, I got within #600 and won a ticket on third try (#900, #1300, now #500). Took over an hour and a half. Was surprised that the tournament just ended once it reached top #600 but that makes complete sense. I was thinking it would be an all-in fest until the end after reaching top 600.
Of course, the $5 Blast Ticket was that bingo style that has not enough to do with skill because of the timer. Was in 2nd place going into Blast after 6 minute timer ended, but just luck after that which was not on my side this time. So 2 hours of decent play with zero to show for it.

I have a ticket to the old game. The ticket is not replaced. Perhaps game to return.

It's slightly better you cash in a $5 blast for $7.50 minimum if you do make the money and that combo of winning a ticket and then cashing is a solid boost that is much easier than finishing top 20 of the 12k player tourney.

I don't mind the new promo but it so difficult to make to top 600 when approximately 13000 players register.

I thought about this also; that in the end new promo may help more. Definitely takes a lot of .30, .60, etc min cash wins to get to $10 win in $5 Blast; but there is something nice about gratification of consistently seeing something in bankroll immediately for effort (even if smaller). 888 did add these $1000 Spring Freerolls again which was nice surprise though.

Just got out. My A A got terminated twice by the villain and It enlightend me that this time I am not gonna get $5 Blast ticket.

Instead of playing that freeroll, I played a cash game and won $4 in about the same time it would have taken me to try and scratch through to that useless Blast ticket.
