888 poker virus

Hi,

I've just a received a note saying there is a virus inside 888 poker...

So , i've uninstalled it ( with pain because antivirus ESET was screaming),

and tried downloading a FRESH new 888installer.exe from their official website...

and voila... it is in there aswell

See my attached pic . I am Croatian, but in croatian here it says that

There is a virus inside called Casino.RandLogic.A


Sooo, my question is ...

am I only one with this issue?

Are they controlling somehow what cards we have ( and yes, with a virus they can! ) ?!

Intresting, I using Northon for about 12 years and fully trust it , but my Northon never flashed anything about 888poker so I say its 100% sure.

i am using eset professional....

some antiviruses are better than others...

look what i just found...

i just uploaded 888.installer.exe to a online virus scanner database...

and we've got a winner

I think you might be confused. Did you look at the results?

You're downloading a casino application, so that's what you get.

That 6 out of 54. antiviruses detected a virus?

Those 6 companies are flagging the 888 App as potentially unwanted.

But it doesn't mean it has a virus.

I work in IT as a sys admin...

, this is a virus. Call it what ever you'd like it.

You should uninstall any antivirus you have.

it's a PUP, potentialy unwanted program, not a virus, but app which need to have some additional rights to run properly, not a virus.
If you're sys admin, you should know what's a virus and what's PUP.

I had a similar situation however after many times of reinstalling the software it works.

Almost correct: it might be doing bad things.
If we are lucky, it's casino promotions in the poker app, nothing immediately harmfull or destructive. But it likely provides an easy link to click and lose money.

I have no such problems. Currently I have disabled all antivirus software. I think your problem will disappear when a new software update appears.

I also faced this problem, but I at my own risk,turned off the antivirus and everything seems to be in order...

My antivirus program is silent on this. If it is prescribed that the program is undesirable, this does not mean that it is a virus.

my computer wont allow me to download 888 either says a virus i tried everything to get around it but cant can anyone tell me what i can do to download it i cleared everything from everywhere no old files and uninstalled everything that resembled 888 so i wouldnt have conflict still cant do it it says virus

Help me I can't download the 888 client, maybe I'm out of place but for some reason it gives an error.

888 Software is fine for me.

The same thing happens to me
I have to play from the page as a guest, without downloading

I don't use antivirus at all. The built-in antivirus in Windows is enough.
