Don't you hate people who just sit out during the game? When it gets
to them all in, and they have a better hand than you they win, what a joke.

They do the same on ACR. They think it will get them money with no work.

The art of playing poker may run into worse than that important to your skills in catching your opponents at the table

In freerolls this can be a little annoying, especially because a lot of people do it. But then again, since we paid nothing to enter, we are not entitled to anything either, including a good playing experience. So if this annoys you, then just play normal tournaments and forget the freerolls.

In normal tournaments its certainly not an advantage to sit out and get blinded away. So people doing it are basically donating money to other players. Thats fine with me, and usually there is some reason for them sitting out. Like they lost connection, or something unexpected came up, so they had to go. Whatever the reason I am happy to take their chips and increase my chance of cashing or winning the tournament.

Personally I love seeing players sitting out at my table. It just means they're donating blinds to the table once a round that I can take advantage of.

I was once at a table in a freeroll where every other player was sitting out and I just collected blinds every hand for 10 mins until one player showed up. It was the most profitable poker I ever played!

I was just at a table where it was just me and another guy while the rest were sitting out. He kept trying to be greedy until I hurt him with a really good hand with an all in. After that, he started sharing the wealth. A little while after that, a third person got active and he started his mess again. We both went after him and he calmed down again.

But if they already have a better hand, you wouldn't win against them if they weren't sitting out either...

I don't like it though, when you won without a SD and due to this auto all-in the room shows your hand. Should take clues from pokerstars here.

If someone is auto all-in because, they dont have enough chips to post the blinds or antes, then per definition the hand goes to showdown, and this is why, the cards are shown. What PokerStars does different from 888 Poker is, that on PokerStars a player can not win, if he is sitting out, even if he is forced all in and has the best hand at showdown.

Its up for debate, which is most fair. The difference is mostly, that on 888 Poker it is sometimes possible to cash by sitting out the entire time, if you get lucky and win some forced all-in, and some people use that as a strategy in freerolls. Which can be a little bit annoying, but I dont really care about freerolls, so to me its a bit of a non-issue :)

Yeah, I don't know whether Pokerstars way of handling this issue is fair or not, but I think your sitting out to the auto all-in point should not cause negative influence on someone else's game. Like how many times you're a chipleader at the table and use your stack for somewhat bullying other stacks, or you're god damn card dead and you decided to play a crap hand when the situation was right, or it's pre-final table or the final table itself where stacks are short and any additional info/read is crucial AND you won a hand postflop in any of those situations only to have a surprise - your hand is revealed for the whole table to see, just because someone has been sitting out for so long, everyone forgot they existed, but they had 1 chip auto all-in investment in this hand, so there we go. I mean, come ooon, it isn't fair either.

Of course not every time when this happens or when I lose to a sit out player, I find it annoying, but as I said, there is a bunch of specific and influential situations where I would prefer if 888 poker handled it the way Pokerstars does.

One thing is sure. Everybody are always happy, when the sit-out player is gone, and people hate it, when they get lucky and win with their random forced all-in hand. Especially if its near the bubble :D

It's even good for you that they don't play. You can pick up their blinds.

Sitting-out players are inactive players. They are just contributing. I don't see any harm in that. If you are active then you can take advantage of it.
But when they are at the point of forced all-in, you should be careful while placing your bet. They can come up with anything.
Siting-out mostly happen in freerolls.

I am not keen this either. If you are really involved in a hand with another player maybe pull of a bluff, get them to laydown but then have your cards revealed because someone sitting out has 1 chip forcing a showdown is irritating.
