Don't you hate people who just sit out during the game? When it gets
to them all in, and they have a better hand than you they win, what a joke.
Personally I love seeing players sitting out at my table. It just means they're donating blinds to the table once a round that I can take advantage of.
I was once at a table in a freeroll where every other player was sitting out and I just collected blinds every hand for 10 mins until one player showed up. It was the most profitable poker I ever played!
But if they already have a better hand, you wouldn't win against them if they weren't sitting out either...
I don't like it though, when you won without a SD and due to this auto all-in the room shows your hand. Should take clues from Pokerstars here.
Yeah, I don't know whether Pokerstars way of handling this issue is fair or not, but I think your sitting out to the auto all-in point should not cause negative influence on someone else's game. Like how many times you're a chipleader at the table and use your stack for somewhat bullying other stacks, or you're god damn card dead and you decided to play a crap hand when the situation was right, or it's pre-final table or the final table itself where stacks are short and any additional info/read is crucial AND you won a hand postflop in any of those situations only to have a surprise - your hand is revealed for the whole table to see, just because someone has been sitting out for so long, everyone forgot they existed, but they had 1 chip auto all-in investment in this hand, so there we go. I mean, come ooon, it isn't fair either. If someone is auto all-in because, they dont have enough chips to post the blinds or antes, then per definition the hand goes to showdown, and this is why, the cards are shown. What PokerStars does different from 888 Poker is, that on PokerStars a player can not win, if he is sitting out, even if he is forced all in and has the best hand at showdown.
Its up for debate, which is most fair. The difference is mostly, that on 888 Poker it is sometimes possible to cash by sitting out the entire time, if you get lucky and win some forced all-in, and some people use that as a strategy in freerolls. Which can be a little bit annoying, but I dont really care about freerolls, so to me its a bit of a non-issue
Of course not every time when this happens or when I lose to a sit out player, I find it annoying, but as I said, there is a bunch of specific and influential situations where I would prefer if 888 poker handled it the way Pokerstars does.
