I really like the Big fish tournaments on 888. I finds them very easy to satellite into for basically nothing (having add on's help big time) if you don't want to pay a full buy in to play. They levels of tournaments are also very good ranging from a 5.50 tourney to a 33 dollar tournament. The play in these tournaments seem to pretty good as well, not many fish just punting off chips, which is nice for a grinder. Obviously the higher staked tournaments have a stronger more experienced field, which can be a good or bad thing for you based on your strength as a player. I just wanted to say that i really enjoy these tourneys and play them often, and anyone who likes a good tourney might want to check them out. Also, if anyone plays them regularly I would love to hear about your results. Good luck all.:D:D:cool::cool:

Oh yea not a bad idea, I love the big fish tourneys myself but the XL series is a much bigger tournament, therefor has more money to play for, which is what we are all looking for. I am a big fan of the XL series and would love to play in there larger events. The day hasn't come yet for me but will eventually over time I believe.

I play them also, but the late registration is very long, like 2 hours and 20 minutes.
The satelites i play to qualify to the $5,50

I make $0,50 from my level freerolls (level 66) and other freerolls.

I am fron the netherlands, the midday Bigfish $5,50 is during dinner and the evening Big Fish $5,50 is lasting into the night......

This generally keep me from playing most big tournaments including the XL-series, which currently run at 888 Poker. The XL-events start at 8-9pm, which mean, that late registration run until midnight, and the final table does not being until 3-4am in the morning. And even if its friday or saturday, so that I dont have to go to work the next day, I dont like to play that late, because I will simply be to tired to still play my A-game. Which of course I kind of want, if I manage to run deep in a big event.

Yes the timing of some good tourneys can be a bother. I myself dislike playing deep into the night as well because like you mentioned your just not playing your A-game and you need to be on your A-game to win tournaments. Playing till 3 4 in the morning has absolutely no value in it, your just overly tired all the next day, tend to sleep in quite late and just in general don't feel that great most of the next day. I agree the tournies and satellites are soft. I enjoy playing there. Its a great site to play and build a roll.

Maybe the satellites are soft, but as OP say, the actual “big fish” tournaments are not. Even the 5.5$ is pretty reg infested with only a few recreational players in the mix.

Thank you Sergik..

Mostly I play 0.50sat for 5.50$ ... 1.50 for 16.50$ and 3.30 for 33$ Rarely.

Best place in 16.50$ Sunday Big Fish - 20.000 GTD
75 place 60$

33$ Big Fish - played a couple of times, I didn’t seem to get ITM

If I get at least one win or get to the FT, I will write in this thread)

I only play these when I get a ticket from the daily spin(s) because they take so long and are pretty tough to cash in, but when you do cash it's pretty good.

I've had numerous cashes from these tickets and even made 1 FT where I finished 3rd, although it was a smaller one with just $3k guaranteed...

I have also tried the big fish tournaments , 5.50$ mainly and rarelly the 16.50$ , nice tournaments to play . I love especially the freebuys satellites which make it easy to take a ticket , at least for me for the 5.50$ tourneys , the 16.50$ or 33$ very difficult for me to get a ticket :)

Good luck everyone playing them .:)

I played today a 1cent buyin for a 3.30 USD ticket. I needed no rebuy and before the Addons come I was No. 1. (about 75,000 chips). Then you could buy up to 3 addons for 0.75 USD each with 100,000. I bought all of them having 375,000. So the advantage I played for was almost eleminated. At the end I got the 3.30 USD ticket, but I had invested 1 Cent buy in + 2.25 Addons ? 2.26 USD and a lot of time. Not the best return. I calculated what 888 earned. Payout 3.3*15 tickets = 49.5, but they earned 84 Addons**0.75 USD + 153 buyins, which makes 64 USD... which is more than 20 % ...hmmm. I won`t play that satellite again. Without the addons you have no chance, the blinds are too high at the end with too much players..

I would not recommend these either. If you want to play a 3,3$ MTT, then just pay those 3,3$ and buy in directly :)

You are right. The "highlight" was, that I thought I gained a 3.30 USD ticket, but it was a fixed tournament 2 hours later, which I missed to take part in.

Never again.

Its just a name for some of their bigger MTTs. Pretty similar to the pokerstars "big". There are 6 of them daily with either 5,5$, 16,5$ or 33$ buyin. I think, they have all a similar structure now with 125BB starting stack and 12 min blind intervals.

I never won a big fish because there is a lot of variance for the hands because in no moment of having good hands could I win

I too play these whenever I get free tickets via spin. It starts late night here and take a lot of time.
My best finish was 27th in 33Big fish tourney.
