learning to play 8 or better 7 card stud, any tips?

I pretty much start with either all high cards or all low cards, cards like 3-4-6 have more value since u can either make a straight or have a good low hand

I'm very much an amateur at this one, but here's some basics:

Try to keep track of all the exposed up-cards (even the ones that've been folded) and the effect they have on your hand.

Don't chase too much. And try not to chase low hands only: they'll cripple you if you don't hit, or if they get beat, and you don't even know until fifth street if you've got a hand. High hands with a low possibility are easier to play.

i have a problem of not scooping
i can win one but not both...i need help
i was in a hand, had theroyal wheel...should scoop right? lost to a royal flush! and tied low who had a reg wheel.

That's just a sick, sick beat. 99.9% of the time that should scoop. Hell, a lot of the time just a regular wheel will scoop.

If you're shooting for high hands with low possibilities, then you should be scooping your share of pots soon enough. Maybe you're aiming for too many low-only hands?
