Hey guys,

I've been grinding away at 25 NL and the roll is pretty much ready for a venture into the 50NL arena. I was just wondering if the forum members who play at this level could explain a bit about the move up.

Are the games generally much tougher or do they play fairly similiarly to 25 NL?
What adjustments do I need to make on my game?
Opponents general level of play and tendencies that differ to 25NL?

I suppose I'm just after any information that could be useful in moving up the limits in terms of what to expect.

All info greatly appreciated.

i find 50nl way easier. but i like to play very aggressively with my position so i dont get called down as much as i did in 10nl and 25nl. still tons of terrible people.

Very nice. I don't get to play as much as I like but it's good fun.

Yeah, I'm not doing as much as I should either. I'm already making more at poker than gigging for this year, and that's not much!

Sorry, I seem to have derailed your thread.

Ok ill give this a shot, its been a while since i made that particular move up but here goes. The $25 tables tend to be populated by a higher number of calling stations, and lots of passive play. Value bet more and bluff less.

$50 NL tables youll get the same basic level of play if you select the tables correctly. Youll also find more regular players, the table im currently sitting on has 3 regulars playing, and most of these players are winning players. Occasional regs are total donks, and you need to keep track of the tables that their on, hence using PT becomes essential once your playing any decent amount of $50 NL.

The tables become more aggressive as well, your implied odds go up, and you need to play your strong hands fast more, youll occasionally find yourself put in spots, and you should be prepared to bluff into big pots against the correct opposition more.
