I don't see how they can be illegal, they may have just stopped doing them

VC was the only poker site/network that I have ever seen them on in the first place though

try contacting them to find out what happened is all i can suggest

Then i guess i have been around longer than you?? I wouldnt have guessed that, but i know from 2003-2004 they definetely had ten cent giveaways that attracted 400 plus players at any minute.

Ten cents can buy you a lot of candy! Or at least it could back in the 50s. OR maybe just a pack of gum.

Hog Poker used to have the 10 cent freerolls, now they have changed to what they call a $2 speed freeroll--available in texas holdem, omaha, and omaha hi/lo.

Just so you know..Doyle's poker room and Hogs poker see to be the same place.

No requirements for the freerolls, other than downloading the software.
This means a truly free freeroll..no raked hand minimum, no deposit minimum, no credit card numbers..just sign up. :p

what is a ten cent giveway, like is it a tourny, or just change being given away?

Well, it's not a huge draw but it's fairly easy and you can actually build a roll at Everest using these.

They have .10 freeroll games always waiting for people, so you can get in one anytime and there are always takers - it's 10 player tournament NL/L holdem with 50/30/20 prize. If you get a nickel you can join in on one of the .40 games, also 50/30/30 - assuming you won both a .05 and a .40 you will have a big fat quarter - from there, you can join into a $1.50 6 player NL tournament game, worth $1.00 / .50 - So really, if your playing casual or just want to see if you can actually build a bank without ever putting up a dime - then it's a nice option. Good to play in between serious games or as an untilter I find. The competition is pretty easy and either very loose or very tight I find.

Have you seen the number of people playing in the play money games at a place like party poker? Given a choice between play money and winning ten cents, why not play for ten cents?
Clearly these games are not for those of you that already play for real money. :)

actually thats how I started one of my bank rolls was on a small give away free roll. It took a couple months to build it to something worth while but I like the Idea of it.
