1 million starting chips tournaments on Merge

Has anyone seen the fat stack tourneys they are putting on merge. Talk about deep stack you get 1 million starting chips lol. They also have what they call slim stack you get 20 chips lol. Talk about extreme

Blinds have to be high to start with in which case seems pointless and more annoying

Blinds are 25k-50k to start 10 minute levels. Blinds in the slim stack 20 starting chips begin at .5-1 chip 2 minute levels

Don't see the point. Why not have 10,000 stacks starting at 25/50?

It's just a novelty thing, to have that many chips.

I've had that many chips plenty of times before. No novelty here.

Agree with Jonny. Don't see the point and won't be playing any of these tourneys.

A lot of players obviously you not included. Do not know what it is like to sit at a table with a million chips. It is a different game psychologically for them. I know it is only 20 BB's but the idea of just having that many chips could make a difference. I know when I used to play on stars that when I got deep into an mtt and the chips started changing colors I got a rise out of it. The same goes with the 20 chips to start a lot of players will think omg I'm short I must shove, with the blind levels only 2 minutes in those they will be nothing but a lottery in about 10 minutes.

The 1 million chips is a lottery too.

And, just seems pointless & stupid that merge has this garbage cluttering up the lobby. They are goofy, gimicky, joke tourneys.

Cali, only a complete & uber fishcake would not instantly figure how many bb's they have... even if they have a gazillion chips.

They should have 10billion chip starting stacks with blinds starting at 500mil/1bill,... maybe some of them would play too tight?

How Bout 1 billion chips starting with blinds at 1 chip 2 chip. and levels at 2 hours.

"it depends" I mean what if the blinds went from 1/2 to 100/200, 1,000/2,000, etc.? Oh-oh.. don't give Carbon any more great ideas for tourney structures.

Having looked at these in the lobby, I haven't seen one get enough players for the game to start. Needless to say, they won't be around for much longer.

I do not see the point of these big or small stacks. The $1m stack has blinds of $25K / $50K which is only 20 BB's. Novelty value only if you ask me.

Here is Carbon's selling point on these. They basically challenge you to try these.


The Fat Stack blinds start at 25K/50K, but get ready for that amount to soar - blinds go up every ten minutes, will you be able to keep up? While the Fat Stack gives you a ton of chips to throw around, the Slim Stack will test your stack management. 0.5/1 starting blinds increase every 2 minutes, so it will be fast-paced. Neither require an 'A-game', they are shovefests.
