| Ninelions' "Zoom to Double the CardsChat Stake" thread As another happy recipient of a CC $25 stake, I'm starting a thread to show everyone how it can be done (or undone). Follow me on the bumpy road to success (or failure). Hopefully I can at least make the ride entertaining! Rules for me:
Virtually all of my poker playing has been mulit-tabling NLHE, but I've played Rush, played Zoom, and started PLO Zoom maybe six months ago. The less Zoom I play, the better my Zoom win rate. The more Zoom I play, the worse my losing rate, and then I have to go back to cash tables to rebuild my bankroll. I'm hoping this stake will be the beginning of the end of that trend. Come along for the ride! I'll be posting bankroll updates, hand histories, and a video or two along the way. That's based on the assumption that I don't lose it all in the first session ... |

| Video from yesterday uploaded. http://youtu.be/5_67u3XLRlY It's two tables side by side, so you might want to go full screen. Let me know if there's any problems viewing. Ignore the visual zooming; it was accidental and I didn't know that I had even done it until I watched, so it's meaningless. And sorry for the scratchy throat. And, leave me any questions or suggestions. I'm still learning PLO and I didn't get as much strat in the discussion as I had hoped. Last edited by NineLions : 26th October 2012 at 3:40 AM. |

| More downswong after the video, bankroll down to plus $3 or so by the end. When I know that I'm down I consciously try to tighten up my preflop range, which I did, but today I tried to open it up again; 22/16, and managed to get some back. I think maybe my normal PLO game is on the verge of too tight, and when I run back then I make it too tight? Anyway, graph to date. atm plus $9.70 |

I had hoped to have this done one way or other before November, but didn't get there. Then November was filled with NaNoWriMo, and now I'm editing. Plus, it still just went slower than expected Part of the idea of playing with the CC stake was to help me fold when I'm behind, but my showdown line indicates I'm being folded too often, though my W$SD is 49.5% so maybe not. Maybe I just don't run good enough to make money at Zoom. |

| Update: Probably the slowest staking ever. But I had planned for it to be done in the first month, cept it went down after getting close. And then down further, until I started playing again and now getting close to even again. I can do what ever with the steak; return it, take it to 0.05/0.10 for faster results, or, since I'm on an upswing, hang on to it for the time being. I kin return it whenever y'all want it back, but maybe I can figure this out yet. I suspect it requires more willingness to stack with more draws, and a whole heck of a lot of patience. What say you, Sir Dorkus? |

| We're taking a break from the staking contest for a while once this round of stakes is done, so if you're happy enough to carry on at a slow pace I'm not that bothered as long as you keep updating. That said, if you want to gamboool, then go for it. Basically, I'm easy. |
