Marco Valerio is reporting that the Santa Ysabel Tribe of CA has announced an online poker launch, with real money play to begin possibly tomorrow (7/14). The Tribe is basically asserting internet poker is Class II gaming and their sovereignty allows them to offer games on their lands.

This raises many issues, and is likely going to make some big waves at both the state and federal levels.

Very interesting - can't wait to hear the response to it.

well, this is very interesting. Seems a little odd tho, at first glance. Cause here in Socal, that tribe is one of the smaller ones and they had a casino open here, that in recent months had to close. So will be curious to see if this would be real or not.

If California ever gets into the online game in a real way, and then proceeds to open up for a common player pool; watch out real money online poker would follow in AT LEAST 10 states and for 100 million Americans.
