So, I made it to my 1000th post and I, like some others before me, wanted to write up a little something(~30 pages, lol) to kind of thank the members of CardsChat. Since being a member here I have learned a ton and I feel like I have helped quite a few people too, but figured this is something that could help many. It is a poker tracking software stat guide(name Hold'em Manager Stat Guide because I use HEM, so the stats will be name for how they are in there, but they can be used for other tracking software's: Pokertracker3, Poker Office, etc.).

For the most part it gives a breakdown of just what exactly each stat means, and I give some explanations of what some values will tell you about a player. Now I know that everyone has their own ideas for how they like their stats and what values they think each stat should be for a given read to be seen, so I would love to hear everyone's suggestions on any problems/changes you think should be made and I will give credit. I would like to have values for some more of the stats, but frankly I just don't use every single one, so don't have all of that data, so let me know and I will keep it updated both here and on my blog. It took forever writing all of this up, so I hope you all enjoy!

Thanks again guys(and girls)!

Thanks, and let me know anything you think should be updated/added as I want this to be kind of a ongoing project because it will only get better with input.

Haha, thanks Al and Patty. Like I said, I just couldn't thank CardsChat enough for everything here. Yea, that took me forever to write all that. Writing out all of the definitions was just exhausting, and then I really tried finding a lot of values that I didn't already have and then trying to come up with ways to explain certain things that are just automatically known in my head that if I see it on my HUD, then I do this or that.... kind of hard to put those in words.

Congrats on 1k posts!

Looking forward to this, your timing is impeccable for me personally - I just switched from PT3 to HEM, and am still figuring out the UI and the stats. Most of the stats are the same, but I'm not familiar w several.

To echo pifan, THANKS!!!

Il'd just like to say a big thanks for this great reference!

Even though I use PT3, the definitions of stats are mostly universal and many will find this useful.

Congrats on your 1k posts :)

I know how that is. I feel like I'm constantly doing 100 things at once, and can never completely clear my schedule.

Downloaded last night but only glanced at it briefly. Looks like you really put a lot of work into it. I'll try to read through it sometime soon and report back with a more thorough review.

Congrats on the 1K.

Many thanks absoluthamm, it's very appreciated :)

It already happened to me to search for hours what could mean some stats, so this guide will probably be really useful for me ! :)

Same thing for me when I first started using tracking software. I couldn't believe there wasn't a more easily available guide for the users.

That's one hell of a good idea. I can't think of many things that I have gotten for a present that would have helped me make as much as I have by owning HEM. ;)

Great info guys!

One more question for you guys....

Which one is the best tracking software to purchase? And which is the best for your money?

I would personally say Holdem Manager and I know in the recent past a lot of people who used to use PT3 switched to HEM because there are more options with it(IMO). Many people also say that HEM is more user friendly, and I guess in my opinion, I like the way HEM is set up more than PT3. With PT3, you can create your own stats, even though most players won't have to do this...

They both have a micro stakes version that is cheaper than the full versions, Holdem Manager's being $55 and PokerTracker3's being $45 right now. They also both have Omaha options, only with PT3, it is a separate program, and it can cause a bunch of problems if you are trying to use and play both at the same time. Whereas HEM has the Omaha that is the same program and has the ability to play both holdem and omaha games at the same time without problems.

They also both have trials, so the best way would probably be to install both and see what you like better.
