This site has tons of threads like this that have a lot of valuable information on them that you could find by using the search feature so people don't have to repost the same things over and over again. This thread here has a good amount of info on poker tools, what software do you use, specifically this post(by me)http://www.cardschat.com/showpost1359396-post9.html Hope that helps

Poker Tracker 3 I'm a newb to online poker, though I used to grind the limit tables at Commerce. It's quite a bit different, and I've found that using PT3 helps me to get a bit of a read on the players without having to watch every single movement of the game. When you open PT3 a HUD (head up display) opens up under everyone's name on the table. Three stats are displayed. VP - PERCENTAGE of the time that a player puts money into the pot. PFR - PERCENTAGE of the time that a player PRE FLOP RAISES. AFQ - A scale from 0 - 100 on how aggressive a player is. How the stats work together. High VP + Low PFR - Person is a loose calling station. High VP + Low AFQ - Person limps a lot. High VP + High AFQ - Loose Aggressive Player [LAG] Low VP - Tight Low VP + High PFR + High AFQ - Tight, Aggresive Player [TAG] How I use these Stats. If I am in late position and someone with a VP<10 and PFR<8 I usually don't meddle unless I have a premium hand. If I am in MP or LP and someone with a VP>30 and a PFR<10 I will raise then continuation bet to try to get them out of the pot. Can someone post some more examples?? Here are my stats on a Full Ring .10/.25 NL table. VP - 19 PFR - 13 AFQ - 65 If I play, I'm raising. I always raise in Late Position regardless of cards. I continuation bet through the turn, usually. Less if the flop is nasty for me. I absolutely love PT3. If anyone has any corrections to this, speak now or forever hold your peace.

yeah i started off using PT3 cuz it was a free 60 day trial (i think)....liked it alot....got into custom HUD's and what not....then when the trial ran out, i tried Hold'em Manager...i ended up droppin' the money on HEM based purely on the "feel" of the program...both are great programs though. i SUCK at calculating odds in real time at the table and simply had to drop the extra money on Holdem Indicator...i get all the odds i could want at a glance in real time. this combined with HEM is about as good as it gets IMHO.
