HEM v PT3

Are there any major differences between HEM and PT3, and which one is better?

PT3 comes with 2 licenses for two PCs - are both licenses tied to one account or could the software be shared between 2 people?

No the license is not for 2 people, it is meant for 1 person on 2 different computers, like home and work. HEM also gives you a license for use on 2 computers. I like HEM better, but they are pretty much the same. Try out both of their free trials and see which one you like better, it is really just personal preference. But, the HEM small stakes version goes up to higher limits than the PT3 small stakes version.

* The PT3 trial is better, though, being 90 days compared to 15 days for the HEM free trial.

PT3 has a very easy setup and I think has a more user-friendly interface.

I think Holdem Manager is a little easier to use. Pretty much the same though really.
