HEM/PT3....again...... I know these HEM vs PT3 have been posted ad nauseum but I am in the almost buying stage, so.... Im starting the trial with both later today. From what Ive read it seems a coin toss. As I am mainly STT and MTT, what are the pros/cons in these formats? I will be trying them myself, any tips at all on the best way to utilize the trial time to gain the best insight? Is it a good idea to try both at the same time, or one after the other? And trial vs real version, and things that may suck in trial that rock in the full version? Or is the trial a time limited full version? Thanks

Last time I looked at the trials they were full versions, just time limited. I think HEM's trial is 30 days and PT3's is 60 days. You'll know within 30 days which you'll prefer. HEM also offers a full money-back-guarantee if you buy it and change your mind. Not sure if PT3 does or not. I started with PT3 while it was in beta and through its release, but HEM won me over. At the time though I was almost exclusively a cash player and HEM initially had poor tourney support compared to PT3. Since then however HEM added tourney support and are actively working on shifting more resources towards additional tourney functionality, recently polling their users on what they want to see added for tourneys. Today I play mostly tourneys and almost no cash, and I'd still pick HEM over PT3. One reason I prefer HEM is their support. Their support staff is on top of the forums, and they are very quick to push fixes and other updates out. With the exception of the Rush HUD which PT3 beat them to, they pretty much stay ahead of PT3 on support, updates, and new features. That said, PT3 is a good product and you can't really go wrong with either one. Both will improve your game a lot of you apply them properly, particularly with respect to finding your own leaks.

I use HEM personally, I just didn't like PT that much and I found HEM a lot easier to set up and work with. They are basically the same however and you can't go wrong with either, it's personal preference. Try both and you'll soon know. I'm not sure if it's true but do more people use HEM? I'm a cash game player fwiw.

re: HEM/PT3....again...... poker PT3 here... no probs w support and works well. Got it before HEM got MTT functional... As u said OP is a coin toss so try them and decide. Running them together might be fun, but I think they would interfere w each other. Only function HEM has that PT doesnt is a HUD display of relative EVs in the PLO version. But PT will add that soon I bet... You are going to get a long thread of HEM and PT lovers coming in at about 50/50. I think PT used to outsell HEM, dont know about today... GL... BTW got my PT HE version free thru a site sign up offer, u might want to explore those...

Thanx for the answers all. I will be trying them soon. I wont run them together, as I think they would interfere with each other, as stated above. But I think I will try one for 2-3 weeks, then the other. I think HEM is only 15 days so I will get PT3 first then HEM. I lost my whole HH ( I had the whole thing lost. as well as some other stuff due to a PC problem) from FT and PKR. I will email them if they can send them again. But ive heard this is not a big problem, I hope so....It wasnt a great amount, but about 100k hands, so it would have given me a good start. The cash games were so few that they dont matter
