What a difference 5 minutes makes Been playing in an $10+1 MTT on PS. Usually has around 2,000 entrants. Ive been in the money 4 out of the last 8 times. Nothing big but still ITM. I know 8 games is nothing and will soon be back down to my usual 10-15% ITM but enjoying it right now. Anyways the blind structure is increasing every 15 minutes compared to the usual 10 minutes in most MTTs. Played in another MTT this weekend with the 10 minutes blinds and man what a difference it seemes. Felt like a turbo. Anyways really like the longer blinds and wish they'd offer more of these even if they had to cap the number of entrants.

keep up the good work. I also prefer the longer blinds, gives you a chance to see some hands. Sure doesn't gaurantee anything , but its nice to have some time to wait for better hands and you get to see how the others are playing, you seem to get a better handle on the type of player they are. Oh well, good luck and keep the string going.

Longer blinds let you sit and wait for better hands, but shorter blinds make you really try to exploit your opponents. I personally think that shorter blinds are more fun and exciting because the inexperienced players get all nervous about the fast blinds and you can easily figure them out and pull their chips your way.

There's a deepstacked at noon eastern on pokerstars for the same buyin. I think 15 minute blind levels were standard at pokerstars until they added the fulltilt-like structure, 10 minute blind increase but with smaller jumps; 20/30/40/50/60/80 instead of 20/30/50/100...so you're really paying close to the same in average blinds per hour (atleast early on). Haven't looked recently to see which is more common now. btw, Egon Towst posted a comparison of different mtt structures and how long it would take to blind out in each. I'll look for that thread... Online MTT Structure Comparison ...looks like Egon has the old standard pokerstars structure in the OP, but the example Rex posted is the other common one. Is that how it is now, 1500 stacks are 15 minute and the guarantee/3000 stacks are the the 10 minute? Last edited by D'wilius : 4th February 2010 at 5:56 PM.
