In a tourny were realistically u won't win y is it wrong to flip with a big stack eg. ... Let's say i have 22 in the bug blind and the small blind shows me his cards being ak and goes all in the first hand in this big tourney were I'm not likely to win the tourney why is it wrong the call with let's say 100 big blinds if the blinds go up at let's say every 3 mins. So I have 1000 chips. Blinds 5/10, than 10/20 than 15/30 (in other words the blinds increase at an average pace. Not face but not too slow. But at the same time I'm unlikely to win the tourny because its unlikely. Please advice me / tell me why the pros say it's wrong to call in this situation ?

The blind structure you described is a hyperturbo and I think more people would go ahead and make the call in that scenario. |

lets say it's AKo V your 22. you're 53% favourite to win which you probably should take if the field is better than you. A pro is generally a better player in the field so has no need to take a 53% flip as it's -ev for him as he can outplay the rest of the field and build his stack like that. So they have more of an edge over the rest of the field by playing than they do by accepting a flip with a 6% edge.

re: Poker & In a tourny were realistically u won't win y is it wrong to flip with a big stack eg. Depends on tourney. If its just another online donkament starting every 5 min I think most 'pros' would call. The reason is that they have a big advantage when they have a big stack, and not so big with a small stack. Plus they can just enter another tourney if they loose.

Why are we playing tourneys we cant win? If we are the big stack why are we flipping 1st hand? (Hyper Turbo) Don't play a tourney you think you have no chance of winning and certainly don't get in the habit of flipping 22 vs AK. I'm not a Pro and I won't say don't make this call, why? Cause AK is a draw hand and you have a slight % edge over it with 22 but not much. The Pro's would wanna make this call with QQ's or better.

No point in flipping early on vs any sort of opponents, even better ones. There are times when these better players will try bully you anyway and when you pick up a decent pocket pair, you will be a huge favourite as opposed to flipping.
