Winning Live Tourney player is struggling online

(apparently you can't change the title once you post a thread....sorry)

I have been playing live tourneys for about 5 years and have become quite profitable at this.

I play live 1-2x per week, my usual buy in is $200-300 and I cash about 30% of the time and show a nice profit.

I also play some $500-$1,000 events about 6 or 7 per year and make a small profit in those.

I'm really struggling to transition online.

I play on Bovada because I am a US player, and also I don't use a HUD or pokertracker yet and figured that will be less of a disadvantage on this site.

My biggest games I usually play are the $3.30 SnGs, $3.30 triple ups and some $1.10 MTTs and occasionally $2.20 MTTs. My in the money percentage is 29%.

While I am "up" online it is really pathetic, IMO for how many hours I've put in.

It's also hard to explain to my husband and justify the time spent because I can go out on friday night play for 6 hours in a casino and come home with $1,200...or I can play online all day and struggle to make a profit of $4 or $5

I do not play cash, and I'm not really interested in cash. I've read a lot of the online and online tourney strategy articles on this website and am following the advice the best I can.

Do I just chalk this up to variance, or do I really need to re-tool my game?
