Super Turbos Among many of the new games at Full Tilt I have seen I think that super turbos are probably the most interesting. If you don't know what they are they are 9 man sit n go's and everyone starts with 300 chips. As you can see if you lose one or two hands your stack is very hindered. I have not played one yet but I have thought about it. I keep backing away from them because I feel that they reward the luckier player not neccasarily the better player. I just wanted to know if anyone has played them and what they think about them?

Super Turbo Sngs = BINGO Dude, Those super turbo sngs are bingo poker. It's not real poker. It's matter of whoever gets better cards within first 10 minutes. That's not poker. Poker requires patience and strategy, not all ining every hands. I played on full tilt in 3.30 sng superturbo. such bs. But if you win, you win a lot. If you wanna gamble and have fun, don't mind losing, then yes, it's pretty fun game to play. But if you're playing poker to make money and to build your bankroll, then I definitely recommend you to not play super turbo sngs. Superturbos end in 20 minutes max. Even turbos aren't pure skill game. It requires more luck than slow-blind structure. Slower the blind structure, more skills it require. faster the blind structure, more luck it requires. Simple as that. I played it few times 30 minutes before I had to go to class. That's about it.

Yes these super turbos are super high varience. Yes short term results will be skewed heavily by varience. Yes they are soul crushingly boring. But these games are super easy at the low levels, havent played a lot of them but all it really takes to beat them imo is a good understanding of ICM/push-fold strategy. OP if u whant to try them just read some ICM-push fold theory threads. Players at the low levels are absolutly clueless(limp/folding for a tenth of there stack, min raising folding for 1/8th of there stack ect) |

re: Super Turbos poker I would not be interested in playing these games. You don't even have enough time to think in a reg. turbo game and now you want a super turbo starting @ 300 chips. Ridiculous. You can save that one for the birds.

All-in or fold. The only two plays. I did more than my share of the $3 sup. It will drive you crazy. If you decide to play, be prepared to take some tough beats. You are going to get call with A-rag, any two suited cards and the like.

I noticed one very interesting thing with the superturbo's this counts for $3, $7 & $14. This is a very safe (from my experience) move when everyone to SB folds, and SB limps. This is imo a safe move in lvl 1 and 2, where the limping SB got at least 6bb. SB: Limp (unknown) Hero: BB, PUSH, any 2 cards will do. SB: fold, Hero wins an easy and safe steal This is why: Seems like any player that limps on SB vs BB only is weak, and want a cheap flop, with a lucky flop or a flop-steal. This move does fail now and then off course, but I think I can say with high confidence that the limping SB in these situations is very rarely (1 out of 100 times or less) trying to slowplay AA, AK etc. Last edited by Aalgaard : 27th February 2009 at 4:02 PM. Reason: forgot to write SB action after Hero push

Turbo's are for queers n steers. N i dont see no steers playin 'em. No time to think n' ppl r pushin with K7 against ur AJ n BAM the flop comes: JKK. BOOOOO! Stick to normal poker is u like to use ur skill to beat people. Plus poker is a game about patience. 10min blinds are even pushin it a bit. It's a shame all the MTT's with 30min blinds have huge buy-in's......

I have played in one super turbo sattelite on a different site. I didn't realize it until the tourney started. What a joke. Everyone started with 100 chips. The blinds went up every hand. You just waited for a couple of high cards or an ace and everyone goes allin. I managed to get second in that tourney. I guess that makes me a good donkey. I will never play in anything like that again. Takes the skill completely out of the game. I saw people get put allin the first time they where in the blinds by the blinds themselves. It was a lottery.

re: Super Turbos poker I played in a couple of those super turbo tourneys just to see for myself and they are definitely a joke. Just wait for good cards and push all-in. If u dont get good cards u can usually fold ur way to 4-5 left and hope to get lucky on ATC. If u like bingo, u might like em.
