The small blind completes Hi Guys I play in a weekly tournament league with a 15 minutes level structure. The play is not very agressive, preflop raises and reraises are usually for value and limping is common. My question is what to do when it folds to the small blind and he completes, which happens often even when player's M's are low. Small blind raises are not very common. Should I raise the BB with any 2 cards? Raise with value? Check crappy hands and see what develops? What are your thoughts on the small blind completing, taking into account this realitvely passive type of play? Thanks

I usually raise like 90% of the time. Especially in live tournys where the play is awful, people actually beleive you have good cards. The SB complete is so weak it's unreal. Plus, if they call you get position for the rest of the hand and the initiative, and so it pretty much a must. Every now and again I check to make it look like i'm raising tightly. If you raise EVERY SB limp they'll either stop doing it (and stop giving us free money) or cotton on and raise in SB or something.

re: The small blind completes poker I've been forcing myself to always raise. The very rare situations where I don't raise and complete the blind is simply when there's a lot of limpers and I want to see the flop with a very speculative hand, like a small suited connector. As I see it, I'm paying half the price of seeing the flop. On the other hand, I don't complete the SB with a big hand (AA KK QQ AK) and raise because I think that these hands behave much better against less oponents. I do the same for the BB also, if there are a lot of limpers and I have a strong one, I'll raise.
