Rebuy Tourneys

I'm really interested in playing in the $3.30 rebuy tourney on PS because it has such a huge prize pool. My bankroll is pretty small and I know its probably not enough to play in it but I was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what my bankroll should be to play in those rebuy tourneys.

Assume that the cost of a rebuy tourney will average at least three times the buyin, ie. $9.30 in this case. You will then need not less than 20x that amount, and preferably 50x. Basically, you run a severe risk of going bust unless you have somewhere North of $300.

bankroll management is more of a guideline.

its not set in stone..

dont let it stop you playing a tourney that you want to

Sound advice for those who don`t mind going busto.

Bankroll management is a core skill to be mastered by anyone who hopes to achieve long-term success at poker.

Bankroll management is NOT a GUIDELINE...it is a LIFELINE

if you dont believe me than read lots of my old posts about me whining and bitching about bad beats and how terrible players are and how rigged sites are...

BRM is not to be taken lightly it is to be taken seriously on all aspects...

IT SHOULD stop you from playing in a tourney that you want to play in if it exceeds BRM....so no more than 2% of your BR....so if you have a $100 BR....you shouldn play in tournies with an entry of more than $2....

please trust and believe on this as i know from much experience

This really depends.... perhaps OP is willing to re-deposit at anytime?

My suggestion to OP is similiar to 'Egon Towst', realistically if you want to be playing a rebuy optimally, I would suggest a bankroll of $500 to play in those regularly but as has been suggested.... play it if you feel like it.

I believe in bank roll management, I just wanted some helpful guidlines or tips you might say to keep me from losing my money.

I know its a bad idea to play in a $3.30 rebuy tourney when I have no bankroll. But its just good to get some insurance and other peoples ideas before I regret playing in a tourney when I know I shouldnt.

The good way to play is don't re-buy and only add-on if you need more chips. So need bankroll management too. I can't play it cause it's the way i blow my bankroll all the time

From another player who's been dumb enough in the past to play on a short bankroll, I agree with you about bankroll management.

However playing on a short bankroll wont make you lose more than you win. Playing with scared money will do that, but a short bankroll doesn't necessarily make you play scared.

A short bankroll just puts your bankroll at high risk of losing to variance (but winning/losing the same overall amount as you would on a healthy bankroll).

i know alot of people suggest no more than 2% to be invested at one time. i would suggest only 1% for larger MTTs. for rebuys i'd suggest to always invest less than the lowest payout. and keep in mind your addon. that way if you make the money you've made a profit. so for a rebuy i'd say you should have 50-100x the lowest payout.
