Raise/call or Shove ranges I have been noticing a tendency for good players to raise/call the top portion of their range when around 3bet/shove stack sizes. they shove the more vulnerable but profitable middle and lower portion of their range, I can see the reasoning for this but isnt this exploitable? if you note a players tendency to do this then cant you cap his range and thus call his shove wider. thoughts?

It may be exploitable, but imo it's thin. Sometimes the middle of their range will be on par with your wider calling range, so you run into unnecessary flips with sometimes similar hands. I tend to avoid these situations if I see them because a) I like to play post flop, and b) there are many more favorable pre-flop positions to be in than stacking a wide range against a wide range. Of course, if I have a large chip advantage I will call these shoves with a wider range all day, knowing that my opponent is not shoving better.

i dont really mean super wide, i more mean it allows us to kind of separate two different ranges based on their action, and play appropriate ranges against both, the shove is essentially to discourage action from a range that they may be ahead of, but has good equity against them. to combat this wouldnt you stack of with the same range you would be 3bet shoving an unknown with (if not slightly wider) and change the shape of our range to adjust to their wide/capped range? and we can avoid alot of cooler type scenarios of 3bet shoving into JJ+ AQ+ with lower pairs etc. am i way off on this or does this make sense?
