quick question for 6-max tournament players

at an aggressive table, how wide should my hand selection be for raising and calling raises?

My general rule is I want to be the opposite of the other playes. If aggressive also means loose, I would play tighter than normal. At 6 handed, it is often a loose game, so I play fairly tight.

i'm curious to know how well you do with your general rule? so if we use a scale from 1 to 10, 1 being loose agg and 10 being tight agg w/ the same skill level. playing vs ones and twos, is it wise to play a 10. sounds logical but does it make money.

and i know that fighting fire with fire can lead to an early exit.

I would tend to play tight in a situation like this. The secret is patience. However if you are playing tight there is nothing wrong with throwing in a 3 BB raise espaecially in the late position now and again even with a mediaum hand. You get yourself the reputation of being tight and the others tend to back off when go enter raise like this. I have found this strategy works very well in the later stages of tourneys.
