Qualified for Sunday 200k - Advice please Hi, I qualified to the sunday 200k by doing nothing! Pokerlistings had a 1000 ticket giveaway and I wasnt at my house but managed to survive and get a ticket.. Basically im wondering as ive never played a tournament this big, is there any tips as I see the blinds rise quite rapidly.. should I be calling raises with suited connectors to try and get a monster hand? How long play is needed to get to the payouts? Also if anyone else is playing reply in this thread and maybe one of us can take it down! :P Cheers

re: Qualified for Sunday 200k - Advice please poker It will have a huge field - I have played in it a couple of times and didn't like it. But I think playing relatively tight early is a good plan - so many will go out playing foolishly. Though you have to get more aggressive after the first break and even more so after 2nd. You need to have a solid stack by the time you get to the money. But I will be playing today along with you. I qualified as well in the same game. I could only play for the first 15 minutes but managed to get my chip stack about 200 over all the sitters. So I was fairly confident I could get to the top 1000 and saw when I got home that I did. I will start us a game thread later - I know Malice will be in it too.

Play tag in the beginning like you should in a lot of tourneys. If you want to actually play to win or go very deep your gonna have to not be scared to shove your stack in the middle when the blinds start really get big. Cause they start to go up rediculously after about the second break. I've taken down 49th in this tournament and towards the end it kinda becomes a total shovefest. (not fun imo) but whatever the money was nice lol. Best of luck
