Pocket JJ against a big call from player

This is the titan poker $2500 freeroll, im on 220 position out of 2000 players, only about 280 players left and top 200 are paid. Im dealt pocket jacks. A player goes in for a good portion of his chips that puts me all in. Should i have called?

I called he had AQ and flopped a Q on the cards and i was out of the tournament. Did i do something wrong?

Stack sizes, and how other players stack sizes are the main influence here.

Without ALL the info no one can answer this question, but yeah, it seems like an ok call, but who really knows without blind levels, how quickly the blinds go up etc etc etc.

If you based your decision on the information you gave us - yeah you did something wrong - you didn't take nearly enough into consideration before making the decision. But that's learning poker.

ok my stack size was about 3800 chips only, the other players stack size was about 12000, also he put me all in with his bet, and the blinds were about 300.

Really, just based on this - lets assume I just moved to this table and know nothing about what's going on - probably a call.

Let me ask a personal question - under what circumstances would you have folded JJ in that scenario? Any?

I think you are going to get a pretty equal amount of yes and no to whether you should have called but the real answer is going to require going beyond the cards and chips of that particular hand. I honestly don't know what I would have done, but it would have had as much to do with my experience with the player as anything. How was he playing, what was he playing? Can I put him on a range with that bet? What's my image? Does he think I will call or is he pretty much counting on me to be tight? Do I even want to involve myself in a race at this point? Am I just wanting to money or go deep? On and on....

I think it was not a bad call, you only had 12.6BB, so, I guess you could not fold that hand. You were unlucky, that's it.

I didnt have too much of a read on the players on that table as i was just moved to that table a couple of hands before, was short on blinds, did want to go deeper but was below average chip stack so didnt have the chips to go deeper...

Then you pretty much had to go all the way with it.
