how many hands do you open 3 handed? i currently open around 33-40% from the btn and around the same from the sb , ofc it depends on my opponents too but this is my default with no reads , is this optimal opening?

I would say it depends on chip counts what the blinds are, and how the players normally have been playing. I like to open a lot and pick up blinds when I can if I am deep enough in chips.. I would say 60-75 percent I open. Like I said ti is all a personal style but optimally as long as you win there is no right or wrong answer here.

3 handed I'll open 40-60% from the button, depending on who the blinds are.

this also depends on stack sizes. If it is shove or fold, then I'll go for high card value....if there is still some post flop play left in our stacks then I'll go for playability vs. high cards. ex: shove or fold I'd rather shove K6o but with deeper stacks I'd rather play the 68s

depends on buyin level, in the low ones steal a lot, like 60% however when you move up, you will find players 3bet jam on you really light, so open tighter and stack off much, much lighter. It's a winner takes all, so no ICM to deal with, just think about picking up all those chips.

Looking into other players it depends. If players are loose, open up with more hands (well, they usually will be looser on bigger prizes), because they think, that playing for bigger prizes ppl will be folding more, that's when I get into situations like QQ vs 76o and a guy makes a monster on the flop right away and I'm drawing dead with half of my stack already on the table, sucks sometimes, but sometimes you get rewarded :)

Only played a few & I treated them like short stacking the final 3 at the majors.

Pretty open range here.
