| Long-Handed MTTs (9/10 players) vs 6-MAX MTTs I play a lot of 6-Max MTTs and I'm a big fan of the structure. I find that playing 6-Max allows you to size your opponents up and lets you play "real" poker. I mean you still have donks that are going to give you their money eventually but it's not the kind of donkfest you see when playing long-handed. What are your thoughts on playing 6-Max MTTs? And do you switch your style when playing 6-Max--if so, how do you change your strategy? I find that bluffing and picking up pots is easier 6-Max because you're usually 2-3 players per pot. If no one raised and you see an ace, it's easier to represent that ace, especially by double barreling (betting on the flop and on the turn). Whereas 9-handed, it's more difficult to do that since odds are that someone out there did actually hit the ace. Also, the importance of position is somewhat diminished because even if you're UTG, you only have a few players behind you so you can get away with limping UTG 6-handed (not that this is an advisable strategy). Anyway, I'd appreciate your thoughts on 6-MAX MTTs, focusing on: Position, Bluffing and Odds. |
