| Going Card dead and Being consumed by the Blinds Last night, 7 of my friends and I played a STT Sit N Go. In about 3 1/2 hours of playing, I think I only won 2 hands. I was completely card dead, and kept looking at 6-2 offsuit. Then when the blinds increased, I got eaten up, and had to go all-in on a crap hand. I only lost $5 bucks on the night, because I was able to make it to the final 3 one game, which gets their buy-in back. Is there any advice on how I should have played better? Was I just unlucky? Thanks |

I think my main problem was not realizing how many BBs I had left. Once the blinds went up to 1000/2000 and we got rid of our 100 chips, I was like O crap!!! We start with 5k, and I had about 4.5, because I had been playing tight, and had not received any strong hands. At that point it was down to about 4 of us, and I pretty much had to shove anytime I got a face card. I know that they key to sit n goes is the middle rounds, but I simply did not get any hands to steal the blinds with. Maybe I should just bluff more with hands like 10-8 and 7-9 when I'm on the button. IDK, thanks for your input. |

| re: Going Card dead and Being consumed by the Blinds poker I notice that the 5min increment blinds turbo was worse for the SS than the regular 10 min blind increments. I think for the turbo I have to start think push-shove at about the 15BB level while at the reg blind interval I start thinking push-shove at 10BB |

| re: Going Card dead and Being consumed by the Blinds poker Yea in fast structure short handed SNG's you need to be aggressive OTB and in the CO. Any connecting cards and any Ace is suitable to raise with. And almost always c-bet. Picking up the blinds and small pots will be extremely valuable in these kinds of SNG's. The blinds come around too fast in a 6 or 7 person SNG to be waiting around for premium starting hands. Play your position and your opponents, not your cards. |
