Early stages in STT I have a quick question, when playing single table 9man sng's regular/turbo when the blinds are still 10/20 should you play tight or should you loosen up to see more flops since the price is still cheap?

re: Poker & Early stages in STT Tight is right early on, hands like sc and small pairs are good to play due to the massive implied odds. But still avoid marginal hands imo

In general, tight is right. The cliche really does apply: you can't win the game in the opening level, but you can definitely lose it. Even be prepared to do things like fold in the small blind when it's limped around and you're holding garbage. The important thing is to be able to change gears and get more aggressive as the blinds get higher and the stacks get shorter.

I think you should mix it up. not calling 3 bets oop or opening early with marginal hands. However i do think that raising when it is folded to you with marginal hands is good early on because everyone will be playing tight. Even squeezing on the button would be good.
