I have been playing them. They are decent tourneys and are a relatively easy way to build a roll. All you have to do is make the top 5 and you get paid. The best way I have played these is tight aggressive/relatively conservative. If you maintain a stack around 1300 and above you should be ITM. If you get your stack to 2500 or above don't risk anything with a semi-bluff or draw and try not to risk chips on race or coin flip situations. Once there are about 6 or 7 players left that is when the whole table starts to pick on the short stacks. If you are relatively short on chips and the person behind you is stacked then you should have no problems stealing blinds. I hope this helps.

i played a few last night, i just played super tight only touching AA/KK/QQ etc.. and even when i did just raised 3xbb see who followed then played the hand out, basically just let the idiots fight out bad hands granted im bad and this was at the $1 double or nothings

I'd love to play them...only got my bankroll at $0.44 so far starting from $0.00. I have never made a deposit and i find it more challenging and fun by trying to build a bankroll from zilch. Its certainly taking me awhile though but they definitely look fun.

re: Double or Nothing on Stars poker I've been playing them pretty regularly. They are a great way to build your bankroll, especially if you play them in high volume. You're going to be folding a lot. If you build a stack then you should be riding it out to the end. Don't take chances on marginal situations unless you're one of the short stacks. Super-tight play is where it's at.

Double and Nothings are easy money. You just have to play tight and play a lot of them on the same time.. When you 12 table them you just play AA-KK in the first 2 levels. 3-4 add QQ and AK. Its simple, just double ones, and then sit out and maybe steal a bb when ur in the sb. GL!

I played them when they first came out and it was easy to build by BR up. Everyone is beginning to play them the same way. Multi-table and playing only premium hands. I noticed that they are taking a lot longer to play and I have moved because I don't think it is helping my game any.

Yeah i have only played a handful of these so far I also play a tight game in them also . One game was a fast triple up when had Mid pocket pair of 88's was on button when a few players limped in hit set then made boat on turn .Then the other two players pushed all in with weak Ace rag hands one pair for both .

re: Double or Nothing on Stars poker I'm not a big fan of double or nothing. It's an annoying game and people get insanely tight when there are 6-7 people left. While it could be an effective way of making money, I just don't find it fun.

When I see ppl siting out I mention to the table Lets get the sitters first and then usually take them out then play on, but after that has been said you see most of the sitters join in. A person who sits out in these is nothing more than a scab. jmho. |

I agree that they get insanely tight with 6 or 7 players and can sometimes get boring, but if your stack is above 2000 you could make it to the end with no problem if you tighten up as well and just steal blinds. What I find to be the most frustrating thing about these touneys is you will get a med/huge stack calling an 850 all in with rags like 85off and lose the hand to make the guy double up who is on the bubble to end the tourneyment. I know they have the stack to do it, but I think it should be done when their money is good. Just my opinion.... |

re: Double or Nothing on Stars poker They are a great way to build a bank roll. Play tight aggressive and don't be a fish, if you don't hit the flop and someone bets into you.. Fold.. The object is to last longer then 5 other players, I find the $5 ones the best play. Good luck

I've played many of these... and have yet to see more than 10% of the players play them right. Been down to 6 players and having a very big stack, you still get a SB big stack trying to steal your BB with no one else in the pot. Or if the SS is all-in they'll raise your BB to go heads up, rather than call and hopefully we are 2 against 1. I know collusion is a bad thing, but some things should be obvious and not have to be told. just my .02 I'm also over 70% on the winning side
