| believe it or not some players tighted up or freeze up in later stages even though it's not recommended, afraid to lose chips. i see it all the time, or they're too loose and donk off thier chips. how are you playing? do you bluff occasionally? are you aggressive enough? if your extremely card dead there's not much you can do unless your good enough to bluff. atleast that's what i think. you have to just hang in there, play what you got and prey on players weaker than you. definately don't pick on the chip leader, lol. mix up your game. other players by now have you pegged; when you fold, what you might be calling with, there's something you might be doing that's sending signals to other players. if your tight- loosen up, if your loose- tighten up. what's your table image? if you've been tight you should be able to steal some blinds or bluff some hands. generally the rule of thumb is to be tight at the begining and loosen up mid and late stages of tourny, definately late stages. that doesn't mean you can't play both ways, keep opp's guessing. now loose doesn't necessarily mean play your 72o, 93o etc., you still need a decent hand for instance Ax, Kx, any two face cards, suiters, connecters, small pairs, etc. it depends on your normal style. these aren't monsters so you should be able to figure it out. if you see a lot of opp laying low play more hands, when they're tight -loosen up, when they're loose -tighten up. i hope something in here helps you, if not i'm sure one of the better players will come along and give you some good advice. gl and peace. |
