Welcome to our thread, dedicated to HUSNG.com, the leading heads up poker training site. Our site offers a wide variety of articles, videos, software and more, both free and paid. We offer instruction in all forms of heads up sit and go poker (hyper turbo, turbo, regular speed), as well as heads up cash and mental game.

It is our mission to offer the highest quality content in the heads up arena, and we strive to do that with everything that we release.

Some of our free content is recognized as the best heads up poker content online. For example, the free Mersenneary Ebook contains over 60 pages of advanced heads up material from noted teacher Mersenneary. You can download the entire book totally free (no user account required), or view each page on our site in your browser (again, no user account required).

29lVa1x.jpg

In addition to that ebook, our free poker videos forum has 300+ videos waiting to help you find what you need to get you started the right way in no limit heads up poker.

We find it important to invest in community interest projects. Our High Stakes Rail project publishes hands from the biggest names and highest stakes games, and also has mini interviews and profiles on the best players around. The weekly report in the High Stakes Rail forum is very popular, released every Sunday, covering the biggest winners of the week, as well as those that had a rough time of it. Our Heads Up Poker Profiles project is a work in progress on more detailed bios of the more interesting and successful players in the game.

Another aspect of www.husng.com is that we like to work with others. We enjoy posting free videos for the community, gathering feedback and making improvements on poker rooms. We recently were selected to help improve the Merge Network's heads up sng offerings, and we've had a hand in many other changes on other poker rooms. For example, we worked hard to petition to get the rematch button implemented on pokerstars, as well as inclusion in various promotions from the site. We've also had a hand in top structures that other poker rooms have implemented in the last year.

Premium Videos

While our free video content has helped many players improve their poker game, we do offer some premium videos that go beyond what you'll find in any heads up poker videos online. Below is a description of the very best heads up content that we offer.

What's New?

Crushing Hyper Turbo HUSNGs, a video pack by highly regarded professional players and coaches zZzTILT and phl500 has just been released. This is a complete guide to the very profitable hyper turbo HUSNG format, completely with slides, hand examples, leakfinders, live play and review. All video packs are completely downloadable and yours to keep for life. We give a 3 month window to download your video packs (for standard and premium packs, due to their size, if you need more time just email). We ask that users make one purchase per user. We put a lot of money back into the site to release high quality free content, and we also pay our video instructors well for the work.

Are we allowing free advertising in our threads now ?

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the concerns here, nobody wants any spammers in their community.

To answer the question, this is an approved thread by Debi, so definitely not any free advertising/spam.

We're just here to showcase our site, help add some new users to Cardschat and bring some strategy/theory advice to the forums.

Let me know if you have any other questions, happy to be here and help in any way that I can.

This is pretty exciting having HUSNG.com being part of the forum! I've watched a fair few of the free videos over the past year, all very good which I managed to learn a lot from. I also read the free ebook too when it first came out; although I think I need a refresher on it so will be looking to read again at some point soon.

Currently back into the HUSNG hyper formats myself so really looking forward to some discussion this thread might get.

Thanks ramdeebam, and glad to be here.

A pair of free hyper turbos were recently released by us on youtube. Ph33roX is the instructor and he's a very successful ~$100 stakes professional player that just started coaching again.

Let me know what you think.

Just watched both videos.

Both are really good. He explains everything quite clearly and doesn't over complicate things which is always important. I definitely felt I learnt a few things from them, great videos.

I like the vids. Straight forward and to the point.

My favorite quote -->"You should be limping about 10% of your hands on the button."

You get so many folds with a button raise HU, that it overcomes the occasional re raise.

Thanks for all the comments guys.

Jus, I agree, you get so many folds with a raise that a wide limping strategy is rarely correct. A low % of limps and a low % of folds is usually correct.

It's not extremely uncommon to find a guy that you raise 100% of buttons against either.

I'll post some more good videos as we post them! Let me know if anyone has any questions.

If you want to know how the biggest names in high stakes HUSNGs fared this week, we have the high stakes weekly report published every Sunday.

This week, Skaiwalkurrr leads the way with almost $40,000 won! Find out if mrgr33n13 got any closer to breaking the 1 million dollar pre rakeback mark, and see which PokerStars pro had a terrible week - High Stakes Report

Going back to the limping - I've noticed from the times I've watched serkules, this past week he has a really high limping percentage in comparison to other pros. Not sure if that's because the sample size of games I've watched him play are probably 30 or so. It might be just villain dependant but from what I've seen he seems to like to play a more limping game as opposed to raising all the time, or am I way of here?

Also; can you give me your opinion on what really sets serkules/skai apart from the other regs in the hyper format?

The answers may be somewhat related.

I haven't played Serkules in years now, but he has a reputation for being an excellent hand reader. Not that Skai or any other player at the top level is not, but it's the single thing that people mention about Serkules far above anything else.

Limping can allow you to see more flops, and play postflop in a smaller pot and adapt more to your opponent. It might also be some sample sizing, I've never heard anyone say that about Serkules, but I don't watch him play.

Skai is a great player too, he's known as a guy that plays a lot of high quality volume, doesn't really seem to tilt and has a great understanding of the game.

In general, you need to play a lot of volume to make a lot of money at poker. Unless you get lucky on one or two MTTs in a short period, you're going to have to put in time at the tables to both get good and make really big money. Not a single HUSNG player (or HU Cash I believe) is playing a few hours a week and making more than anyone else.

I'll look into the Serkules limping stuff a bit more closely since I'm really just speculating on that question.

Serk thinks it must just be a sample size issue.

He says he hardly limps compared to mrgr33n13 for example. He also says he doesn't limp first level really at all, more so 20-40 type blind situations (say 7-12.5bb stacks).

Very expensives :( just play poker whit my hand :D

Hi Luchoggg,

I'm not sure what you mean exactly. If you're referring to expensive instruction, the instruction is designed for players with a professional interest in poker, or a larger budget for a casual (entertainment) player.

But the reason we've released ~300 free videos and a 60+ page ebook free is so that players that can't afford or aren't ready to pay money can have great material to learn from as well.

The quality of the free videos and ebook is really good too. They aren't "second level" material we just decided to make free. The ebook, many regulars were asking us to sell for $100s of dollars, and the free videos are similar to what you would find in our entry level membership option prior to us switching to the video pack format.

I'm needing a new format to learn while I grind my regular game (6max cash). Wondering how difficult the transition is, and how lucrative the HU SNG's are on Stars?

It depends on what kind of player you are. If you're a LAG, then the transition shouldn't be too tough. If you're a TAG, you'll likely take some lumps unless you're very patient.

I was a very successful limit player who didn't much care for NL cash games or MTTs, so I switched to HU SNG. I was a rock, and the adjustment was tough for me. I broke even for a long stretch before I adjusted to the aggression required to be a successful HU player.

There is VERY good money in HU SNGs of you become a top player. I'm an American making $150K per year and I'd quit my job to play full-time on Stars if I were able to do so.

I'd recommend reading Collin Moshman's HU SNG book before you play (and/or using the online training materials that are available).

Best of luck.

I'm needing a new format to learn while I grind my regular game (6max cash). Wondering how difficult the transition is, and how lucrative the HU SNG's are on Stars?

We just interviewed Dan "mrGR33N13" Colman who reached 1 million pre rakeback profit on PokerStars this month. Nobody has ever done this before in HUSNGs (or any SNGs I believe), and he's done it before September (he's made six figures on FTP as well).

While the highest stakes aren't always indicative of lower stakes, it currently is fairly similar, the better players at most stakes are doing very well in the profit category.

Like any game, it is going to require work. But with 6 max cash, if you've had some success, I'd imagine you are used to playing at least a medium amount of hands, and probably have learned some positional aggression. While there are so many differences between these games, you'll find that those skills will carry over. If you're already a winner in 6 max cash, just be careful you don't get too ****y. A lot of players that are good at other games come into HUSNGs (and vice versa) and think the players suck, the regs suck, and they will just roll them over. Most of these guys lose money for awhile, claim the game is rigged then quit that game. Don't fall into that fallacy, work hard, work on improving decision making, and you'll find a great and profitable game.

Let me know if you have any questions and if you decide to give it a shot, please update us on your progress.

Anyone else curious what word was blocked out?

Ah, it's a word the filter blocks because of a similar word with an entirely different meaning.

I wrote rocky, but with a c instead of r, meaning overconfident. So it can just read "don't be so overconfident."
