It is my hunch that six person tables will have winning hands that are generally lower than nine man tables.

Please let me know if I'm correct. I'm starting my first 6 MAX turbo and need to know.

Well yeah the less people in a table the higher the percentage of your hand is stronger...but you must remember this doesn't mean that you can play dumb because the other players hands go up in value as well...6 handed is fun thou I hope you enjoy

I was considering adjusting my starting hands to more of the lower Sklansky groups.
Wow, just realized someting else, the blinds come around a lot faster! DOH! Probably have to get a little more agressive.
Thanks!

Its honestly pretty much the same as full ring. Except that in full ring, you have to sit through 5 seats of early position instead of 2. You really have to loosen up very minimally to adjust to 6-max play.

I bet that when you play full ring, you're too loose for even optimal 6-max play.

I don't think you can really start to get laggy until you're at a table full of nits, or you are playing 4 players or less.

re: 6 MAX tourney poker

Yeah, 6max has a variance rate than full ring. Picking up blinds on the button becomes much more important as well.

i disagree with you on that...
Let me tell you one thing wat i feel about 6 table sngs...
I think they are more advantageous than 9max table, cause the first and second places are paid almost the same in both and u have 3 players less to knock out...
Only thing is, 3 places are paid at 9 tables... But i feel its way too easy to get to 2nd place in 6 table game than to get to 3rd place in a 9 table game...
what d you think buddy???
