Where to go with my bankroll
I have a bankroll of $250 right now and I need a direction to go in. I played sngs exclusively until now but i've gotten bored of them. And everytime i'd try my luck playing cash games i've lost. I need a way to consistently build my bankroll. Any advice?

Boredom is the bankroll-killer. You cannot succeed in poker if you don't have patience, and can deal with boredom.
If you want action, take up craps. If you have been successful at SNG's, the next step is bigger SNGs and bigger tournaments. |

on pokerstars they offer those sit n gos "double or nothing" they start with 1,25$ buy in go to the next steps like 5 or 10$ buy in, or on Full tilt the Matrix sit n gos they are fun never get bored with them 4 tables at the same time and different buy ins...

Don't look for the fast buck, if you are making a steady profit at SnG's then I would stay grinding out SnG's but just moving up in limits.
I have been playing micro($1.20 1-table) SnG's for a little over a week already and have cashed in 50% of the games I have played, mind you I have been playing only 1-2 a night and have been making a steady profit. As it has been said above, "boredom is a BR killer" and I have to tend to agree with that. Here are my last 7 days playing SnG's. 15 games played with an average profit of$1.80 and a total profit of$27.00 with an average buy-in of$1.27 with a win/loss ratio of 7/8, Early finishes 0.0%, early-middle 13.0%, middle 6.0%, middle-late 33.0%, and late 46.0%, during Last 7 Days. So I believe with patience and discipline I will keep making a steady profit and you can too with some patience. Just keep grinding and quit trying to make fast money. |

Sorry to break it to you man but if you want to make money playing poker you are going to be bored some of the time unless you are crazy. I reccomend doing something fun in between games or keep working on little niches of your game in order to become a better player to keep you occupied. It's tough man just don't let it get to you because you can lose your entire bankroll in an instant if your not careful.

Yeah I do okay in tournaments yet..
When I play ring games I go up for a while and then suddenly get bored of waiting and tend to crash...there always seems to be a bad beat just waiting around the corner..I like the larger tourneys..'one' buy in so you can stay focused rather than having all-ins every hand for the first hour, thats enough to make your head spin..try those type of tourneys..they get more interesting because at the final table you see millions of chips...kinda fun.

Another thing that you could do is try playing the limit cash games or even a different form of poker. I've been in the same boat as you before where I became board with the SnG's went to cash games and got slaughtered and proceeded to kill a large part of my bankroll because I was determined to be able to beat the NL cash game.
