Are you asking for a poker program to play on (Full Tilt, Pokerstars, etc) or are you asking about programs that keep stats and have a hud (holdem manager, pokertracker, etc)?

Right now for me, Poker Tracker 3 and Table Ninja are my primary tools. I also use HERanger and PokerStove. I'm waiting for Table Ninja to get done with their FTP version.

Actually, I play fixed limit at Full Tilt and it works fine. (Oddly enough on the Table Ninja site, they says it's not compatible w/ fixed limit games -- go figure). Are you finding bugs at NL tables?

I just purchased HEM, never did try out PT3, but I have heard great things about both Hold 'Em Manager and Poker Tracker. Try their websites and read through, try the trial versions and see what you prefer but these are the top 2 used.

Its not just software but reliability also matters. The poker software must support first class graphics and quick enough. It must be secure to avoid any kind of cheating or illegal activities.

Well, since I got PT3, the biggest advantage for me is being able to peruse my HH's and statistics to figure out where I need to improve. Has helped me become a much more positionally-aware player so far, and my winnings graph is slowly improving.

There are various Texas -Holdem software tools. Poker odd calculators are useful when you face any difficulties in playing poker. But there are certain online poker software tools which help to analyze your performance and your opponents as well.

One thing to make sure of when choosing a software program is to make sure the software is legal to be used on the site.

The second thing to check out is which sites you can use the software on.

I don't use poker software, but I have heard good things about Poker Tracker 3 and HEM.

re: what poker programs to use

Are there any free programs to use? I remember I saw a site where you could look up a sn and get the players tendencies. Probably unaccurate but it was fun to look at. Don't think it was the pokeredge site.

go to checkyourbets. itwill keep track of your winnings and losses.Only what data you enter into it. It won't give you any advice or hints, but, when you get knocked out of a tourney, you can enter in under comments what happened in the last hand. And use that info for future games
It is pretty neat to look at a chart of your past progress, keeps a running tally of all winnings and losses and gives you a net $ ending/

Has anyone tried to get Holdem Manager for free by signing up for a poker room on their site? I might try that with the Players Only.
