what is NIT?

OK, I might feel stupid after I get the answer but, what is a NIT? I looked on the sticky post here but didn't find a reference to NIT.

A nit is a tight-passive player that avoids confrontations. Typically, the term nit is used when this type of passive player plays in a pot-limit or no-limit game. Nits tend to avoid big pots and do not like to gamble.

No, it's just nit. And it's not necessarily in caps either.

NIT = Not Into Tough decisions

We've had this thread before, but a NIT is someone who plays super tight. We all see the 15/13/3 TAGs (Tight Aggressive) at the full ring tables (using your PokerTracker stats) but these are the 9/7/5 types. Super Tight players.

also, besides being just a tight player, people often call others nit for away from the table things, like if you don't want to ride a roller coaster or something, you're a life nit.

I am so glad this thread was started. I was wondering what had happened to my tournament play and realized I had become a nit. It is mostly in the CC ones I think because these players are so skilled I was intimidated by any raise, but I actually loosened up yesterday in the guys and gals tournament after reading this and it helped
