What do the "10-7-2" stats mean?

If someone says they are running 10-7-2 etc what does that mean?

I assume its got something to do with playing tight or loose but not sure.

VP$IP/pfr/aggression if thats what you mean.

Means they're a rakeback nit who is also not very aggressive.

Probably stats from either Poker Tracker or Hold'em manager. A 10/7/2 would be a player with a vpip (voluntarility put money in the pot - e.g. elected to play this % of hands) of 10%. The second number is usually % of pre-flop raises, so this person plays 10% of his hands and raises pre-flop 7% of the time. The last number is typically the players 3-bet %, so he is 3-betting 2% of his hands in this case.

So, vpip/pfr/3-bet = 10/7/2

Voluntarily Put $ in Pot % (VPIP)
Preflop Raise % (PFR)
Aggression Factor (AF) a ratio to describe how often someone bets or raises copared to how often the check or fold.

Let say you hand 100 hands on a player with those stats you posted. That means they played 10 hands preflop (not including any hand in the BB where they were given a walk) Of the 10 hands they played they raised preflop 7 times. An AF of 2 means they're twice as likely to bet or raise than check or fold. 2 would be a pretty standard AF.

Damn, Blue beat me while I was typing this out. Yes, 10/7/2 = nit. I know, for I am one. Those stats are essentially what I run in FR games.

Oh, sorry. I've had my HUD set to vpip/pfr/3-bet for so long I thought that was standard. I use and track AF, its just not on the first line of my HUD. Sorry if I caused any confusion.

Most people having AF is pointless because they draw false conclusions after 100 hands as I've stated in many threads with stats.

So a nit might be say 10-7-2

A TAG might be 20-15-3, a LAG might be 40-20-3 etc?

When Im trying to study the hand analysis section these stats normally appear. I dont play any online just live cash so trying to interpret what these stats are used for.

Exact stats for a particular group will vary from game type to game type (running 50/47 would be bad at FR but it's standard for HU)

and just so im clear, the second one is as a percentage of hands played, not percentage of vpip right? ie for 10-7-2, the 7% is of the overall, not 7% of the 10% played (or 0.7% overall)

question 1) if the typical 3bet % is 2% is the range AA and KK only?
question 2) when the 3bet includes QQ JJ 10,10 suited connectors and AK AQ what is the 3bet% then?
question 3) what is typical %vpip in FR vs 6max game? sounds like this is how loose/tight players is

1) range is JJ+
2) All suited connecters or just 67+ sort of hand? 67s+, TT+AQ+ would be 6.8% (90/1326)
3) I think (not 100% as I don't play cash much) 24/18 would be 6-max and like 18/14 full ring. I'm sure a cash player will have more accurate figures.

Well it's roughly 26 combos. obv AA/KK make up 12 leaving about 14 combos. How these are calculated depends on villian. Could be AK but QQ and JJ are possible as well depending on how villian views them. In your database is JJ or AK more profitable? In mine it was JJ therefore if they take that line of thinking its JJ+. I'd take JJ every time which is why I put range as JJ+

Agree 100%, that's why my default HUD is vpip/pfr/3-bet

Bingo, we have a winner. At least in my case. If I'm feeling particularly loose I'll occassionally throw-in the odd QQ. Actually this points out something to remember when checking stats, HUDs, etc. One persons 2%, 10%, whatever is not always what you would think it is or what your 10% would be.
