| re: What did I do wrong here? poker You do realize your hand is not strong at all? KKxx is not as strong on omaha and you cannot be c beting those hands with this flop. And even on the flop you only have 51% equity against this particular hand and this is literally the best case senario. You are crushed by a FD and pair, you are crushed by AA, you are crushed by a straight, you are crushed by a set, you are crushed by 2 pair. |

Fold pre-flop. That is not a good Omaha hand. Also, do some forum searches on "results-oriented thinking." |

Okay, I get the first part --- but I knew he didn't have those things that crush me. So what your saying is just call preflop and check on the flop with that? |

BTW, if you know your opponent is only 3 betting an overpair it is actually profitable to stick it in on any flop as long as its low cards and you have atleast bottom pair. Just a thought unrelated to to this thread. |

| An overpair isn't great here. We're a dog against too many hands that give us action. Even HU this isn't a good flop. Don't be results oriented - we got our money in good against his actual hand, but we got it in really bad against the range of hands that should be willing to shove that flop. |

| re: What did I do wrong here? poker Don't forget position is very important when playing PLO. Since you would have all the information you would need being the last to act on all streets. Allowing you to either control the betting or just calling and seeing how your hand plays out. eg:Flopping the nut straight UTG doesn't mean it's going to win with 2 streets left. The board could pair and leading out UTG you would be crushed by quads, fullhouse, or if a flush hits. Play the board accordingly. Even if you had AAxx in the BB approach with caution being OOP you could be crushed. IMO |

I know, you were ahead on the flop. But as marginal said, you didn't know that. So while your opponent played it a lot worse than you, you still played it poorly. It's just never a good idea to get all your $ in pre-flop, and not a good idea to raise an aggressive opponent post-flop in a particular hand unless you hit it of course. I'm thinking though, in this case, perhaps your opponent had a read on you? When I see too many PFR & C-bet on a low flop, my read is usually right on the money - naked aces (okay maybe any high pair). IDK, maybe your opponent was just a complete idiot, and rolled the dice hoping to outdraw you. Just sayin'. |
