I can't figure out what i am doing wrong. Just like everyone else i cop my fair share of bad beats but i doubt that's the only reason i am losing. Can anyone give me some tips to seal my leaks? |

re: what am i doing wrong poker I mean.. from those limited stats you are playing an OK range of hands... not quite a LAG style, but definitely not nitty either. It is hard to say for sure, but it could be you are doing well pre flop but getting tripped up post. This would especially be true if you have only played 15k hands. In this case you could narrow your range a little, especially out of position and put yourself in less tricky spots on the turn and river. This will give you the time you need to learn to play a stronger post flop game before you widen your ranges. How positional is your pre flop selection?

It's really hard to tell what your leaks are just based on those stats tbh. I'd start by posting some hands for others to analyze, and not just hands where you lost-- there are probably plenty of hands where you ended up winning, but made a mistake or got lucky along the way. Do you have tracking software, i.e. PT3 or HEM? One of those programs could give you some more detailed statistics that would also help to dissect your game.

ive been playing for about a year but mainly just for fun in MTT's and straight out gambling in cash games on full tilt. This is the first time i've really had a crack at playing with BRM. I'm finding that i'm getting it in ahead a fair bit and i can outplay most opponents so i think their might be something technical that i am doing wrong but maybe i'm just running bad. Or maybe i just play bad and if playing bad is the problem then i can't really see what i am doing wrong.

It's great that you're starting to follow BRM, that's really the first step to becoming a winning player. It shows that you're serious about improving. The next thing you've already done actually, you've joined a community of fellow poker players who can pass on their knowledge and experience for you to study. Now that you're here, browse the Cash Games sub-forum for the September Cash Game Thread, post there to subscribe, introduce yourself, and begin to ask questions, observe other people's strategies and the way they play their hands, and ask for suggestions on how to improve your own play based on your own hand histories. At some point you will probably wanna invest in some software to help you analyze your game better, as I mentioned about PT3 and HEM are both great. That'll probably be your next step.

From what I understand PE5 violates the ToS on most poker sites. By playing with that software running you are at risk of having your account banned and all of your funds confiscated. This isn't the case with the other programs available, I'm not sure what's so bad about PE5 but that doesn't change the fact that it's banned by most sites. It looks like you are playing tighter from earlier position and more aggressive from late position, that's very good. Without further information I could probably generalize and say that you are playing far too often from the blinds.

re: what am i doing wrong poker After every 166 hands you are dealt, you are down a buck. I don't think it's your game that is in question. It is just the rake taking what should be your profit away from you. Hopefully you have some sort of rakeback, pushing money back towards you, heh???

The first thing I though was tighten up a little bit in the blinds perhaps, I see it has been suggested. And yes... especially since you've posted here that you use PE5, I would consider discontinuing it. Because the big sites actually do lurk around on here from time to time.
