Table Selection Hi, I know table selection is very important in cash games, but, to be honest, i usually completely disregard it. What numbers should i be looking for when playing at around 5nl, in terms of avg. pot, %players per flop, etc...

I am pretty sure you want the number higher for players per flop which means that many more are at least paying to see it. Avg pot generally the higher the better however you will be probably paying more to see the flop. For me depends on how I am running. This is all my opinion of course many more skilled money makers will correct this.

Not sure about nl5 but normally high players/flop, high $$ aver pot, lots of money on the table is a good sign. Then just try to have a big fish in one of the two spots on your right and ideally some nits to your left who aren't ever going to play back at you when stealing blinds/isolating fish. Having a fish two spots to your left is good too, because you have position on them from btn/CO which is where you should be playing most of your hands. But not much of this is applicable for nl5.

re: Table Selection poker Do any of these comments apply to pot limit? What about limit? I too wonder whether you always want high # of players per pot and/or high $$ per pot, but I tend to play limit or pot limit. I also play Omaha H/L. Are those suggestions universal to all games or just relevant to the initial question on NLHE?
