Straight draw

If you have 10 J and have a commanding lead in a tournament and the flop comes up 8, 9 , A and a small stack goes all in, do you call? (he has about 1000 chips and you have like 6000 chips). I don't think you should but whenever I am the small stack and I have A K in the scenario I usually lose. I want to know if he really does have a better chance?

10 J against any 1 pair of Aces in that situation is a 2:1 dog or in other words has a 33% chance of winning.

But really you cant decide on the information you have given

Need: Blinds/antes, stage of tournament, position, preflop play

These are just some of the things you would need to calculate wether or not to make the call or even be playing such a marginal hand in the first place!

J-10 ? - Suited or unsuited.
8-9-A? - Suits?
Short stack - What kind of player and in which position?
You - Which position are you in?
Tournament Stage - Early, middle, late?
Pre-flop action?
Any other players still in the hand?

given the info u gave i really can't make a decision it's to vague, if ur just dealing with a straight draw and nothing else with ur j 8 than fold it. BUt say u also have a flush draw and a straight draw nothing wrong with calling.

re: Straight draw poker

1st off were you in blind to call with 10 j? if you wanna keep chiplead consider hands you are playin. no raise i may call with 10 j. then on flop pot odds come into play. if youre gettin 3-1 on your call i call small pot with a couple hundred and his 1k fold

You are a 2:1 underdog in this situation with the straight draw up against the Aces.
I am still learning about pot odds myself so I cannot tell you whether it is a good play to call or not.

We need to know what is in the pot already to factor in the pot odds.
My gut says fold but I am not sure about the math.
