Squeeze Play Question

I am curious about this move. I understand that the move is as follows:
1- There is a raise to 3xBB from early position and at least one call when it gets to you-
2- You reraise again -
3- Players who initially raised is concerned with caller and folds-
4- Caller must have very strong hand to call.
Are there any chip stack limitations to making this move. Would it make sense only when deepstacked or at early stages of tourney?

As an isolation move, it seems to me that stack sizes would matter greatly in this situation. If the squeezer's stack is so minuscule that you can't possibly push the targeted squeezee off of their hand, then what's the point. If you want to execute a squeeze play it seems highly beneficial to have a bigger stack than your opponent but also that their stack is deep enough for them to be able to fold their weaker hands.

Also, as far as specifying a raise from an early position, I feel more comfortable attempting a squeeze when the initial raise comes from a late position player, which can often be more of a positional raise than anything else.

Would love some feedback on this.

I think it is an outdated theory that the original raiser might be raising light but the caller certainly has a hand. I don't think this is really true, the caller is as likely to have 87 as AK.

I find that squeezes are either premiums (AK, TT+) or stuff like 44, KQo, JT.

Personally I've done some spewtastic resqueezes to get rid of the caller with such fantastic hands as ATo and K9s because I felt the squeezer was 3-betting light.

It all depends on the game/stack sizes/players. Squeeze plays can be made with premiums or with bluffs. As I say it depends on many factors and can be very profitable. I play 6max cash games, so squeezing is an integral part of the game whether for bluffs or value. Obv squeezing with a bluff against a short stack calling station, or short stack maniac, is likey to be very unprofitable!

The idea is that the original raiser, is often raising hands that can't stand a 3-bet. The callers are also loose, and as more callers call, it takes even less of a hand. So they can't really have anything. So they get 3-bet with "premium hands" like A8s .
