| Sort of new not sure if im in the right place here but here goes..... .....ok i won my first $'s from a cardschat freeroll..(came 6th).I tried a few of them s'n'g on pokerstars ($1buy-in) but i can never seem to place high enough to get my cash back. i even tried cardschat $1 tourney the other night but didnt get right far in that! now my bankroll is so low i cannot enter anything else. i do not want to put my money into playing as i do not want to be wasting it on something that at the moment i am not good enough at. ...saying this i have found a site that i can sell my playmoney on and have been assured by freinds that is a ligitame site. but before i start myself a small bankroll again ($10) is there any info you can give me on what the best way to help me build it ie:what buy-in tourneys or blind limit tables i should have a go at? good luck to you all on and off the felt |

| With 10$ you're really limited. You should really be playing 50c SnG's, or buying in for 50c @ the 2$ NL tables. Honestly, I'd build your bankroll up to 20-40$ first. Either deposit the minimum and use that 10$ to boost your roll, or keep playing freerolls & free games until you can get 20$. With only 10$ in your roll, especially if you're new to real money play, its going to be very hard to A) adjust to playing with real money, and B) stay afloat while practicing good bankroll management. |

| Building the wealth!! Try going to Full Tilt Poker.com and clicking on Chris "Jesus" Fergusen tips! (Free). He is a genious when it come to managing bankrools! ie-w/ such a small bankroll, you would be better off just staying OUT of cash games/MTTs, SNGs, etc UNTIL you can play without fear of loosing it ALL on one bad-beat-OR Crazy-ass allins! Suggestion!? DO NOT play in an MTT with more than 2% of your roll! And DO NOT chase bad bets or bad luck trying to catch up by entering in higher MTTs, or ring games. Check out Chris! He has ALOT of SOLID ways to manage you bank rolls! And you won't go broke in one tourney! |

| re: Sort of new poker I do have a very small BR on Pokerstars, about $6. One new thing that I have been playing is their 360 player .10 MT SNGs. it pays 36 places and first is $8.00 I believe. The play is very loose and the game is fast, but its not hard to make it ITM and if you can win its a decent boost. Also, they have their .10 $50 added and their .25 $100 MTTs as well. So, I'd look into playing in those, trying to cash and get a decent pay-out. |

| I don't think the .10 turbo is worthwhile (I hadn't heard of the 360 ones) but with $10 the .25 one is a good one with the $100 added ITM usually starts at .50 instead of just over buyin and its easy competition. If you're any good at limit holdem and dealing with bullies there is a quite alot to win at .02/.04 level with little risk to BR. I'm up over $100 on those tables and never gone down more than few dollars at a time. |

that's a great idea. Just recently i noticed the .10 cent sit and go's, under sit&go/multi-table/micro. It's a turbo, so play needs to be a bit loose. Also the .10 cent MTT($50 added) at 4am, 10am, and 4pm (also turbo) is pretty good. I used to play them alot and cashed in many, and my mosts' standards I am not so good. And the .25 ($100 added) is at 10pm every night and is NOT turbo, prob. a bit better play. There's also a .50 MTT at 8pm every night. I really like your idea of building play chips and selling them. sounds like free $. Alot of the members here could (or already have if you search the posts) help you find the best place to do that, in terms of $ per million. good luck and keep the positive attitude |

For instance, if your plan is to use freeroll winnings to start building a bankroll at STTs, then you should start playing STTs as soon as you have 1 buy-in at the lowest stake available. Move back to freerolls if you loose the STT and keep playing them if you cash in the STT. BR management only comes into play when you decide to move up to the next STT level. |

There is a level below the lowest buy-in. Its freerolls. So if you had a stake chart for ultimate bet, it'd look like such for the first 3 levels: -Freerolls - 0$ Buy in -50c+5c SnG -$1+$0.1 SnG So you need to take moving from freerolls to moving to 55c SnG as moving up in stakes. And you don't move up in stakes until you've logged enough hours at the previous stake level, and you don't move up in stakes until you're rolled for the next stake level. Just because his bankroll is small doesn't mean that its smart to take that 10$ he has and play a 2$ SnG. Poker is all about the long run, and if you don't have enough of a roll to survive the short term swings, you'll never see the long run profit. |
