10 4 suited you made the right play, you folded. You've got a really bad hand and you'll be out of position against everyone in a raised pot. If you had a lot of limpers in the pot before it got around to you then you can call, and pray for a miracle flop, but even then you'll usually be folding post flop. Even if you hit a good flop with a 10 4, with several limpers, there's a good chance you're dominated by a better flush or a 10 with a better kicker. I'm assuming you would have won the pot had you stayed in. Don't be results oriented. You made the correct play preflop.

I probably would call if it was only a small bit extra with a suited hand, but you can end up chasing and losing a decent amount of chips if it goes wrong. Ex. If the 3rd club didn't come on the turn, you would end up losing any more chips invested or chasing again on the river and maybe losing a sizeable amount if you don't hit your club on the river.

re: should i have called? poker someone opened with a raise you have to fold. you dont have a good kicker if all you have is a pair of tens and you are already behind in the hand to begin with. In addition you are playing the hand out of position, definitely not worth it

if there is no raise then any cards are good enough to CHECK , why would you fold if it does not cost you anything to see the flop from BB? some people will call a raise with T4s out of the BB but they know what they are calling it for. They plan to hit the flop hard, either flush draw or a set. If you want to play hands like that then it must be CASH games or DEEP stack tournaments. Dont try to pull those moves in short stack games..

Let me say it plainly, you did the right move. Of course there are some cases in which if you had called you could catch a monster, who knows even two pairs or full house! But in the long run it will make you lose money cause those chances are very small. You also have to take other things into consideration. Your chip stack, how the people play, etc. I mean if the people there are really really tight then you could be a bit agressive with that hand, but in this case someone raised, and you wouldn't want to reraise a tight player. You did a good move in the end.

Yes, I would normally call if it limped around, especially since this is a Stars dimer turbo. But even then you take the chance that the BB may still raise. Then what? Call again, out of position with a weak hand? Quote:

Folding for a good reason By folding this hand, you are aggressively setting yourself in a better position (stackwise) for when you do have a hand worth playing. Leaking that chip lead away is a bad idea. Not to mention the added risk you take playing 10-4s. This has second best flush written all over it. It's a hand made to take chunks of your stack. You did it right.
