| **Sept MTT Thread** So where are you guys this month? lol No big cash for me in August and feeling a bit washed out so I have decided to mix a lot of $5 games in this month. Please tell me they all play like this at that level lol: PokerStars Game #32394202920: Tournament #191369854, $5.00+$0.50 USD Hold'em No Limit - Level III (25/50) - 2009/09/03 13:35:17 ET Table '191369854 197' 9-max Seat #6 is the button Seat 1: FlopHorror (3540 in chips) Seat 2: Y.S.o43 (2835 in chips) Seat 3: buoya (4175 in chips) Seat 4: dakota-xx (2730 in chips) Seat 5: gotta419 (8355 in chips) Seat 6: dzedze63 (2950 in chips) Seat 7: LäckBobby (4870 in chips) Seat 8: momoney0115 (7345 in chips) Seat 9: twotimes35 (2200 in chips) LäckBobby: posts small blind 25 momoney0115: posts big blind 50 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to dakota-xx [Jh Jd] twotimes35: calls 50 FlopHorror: folds Y.S.o43: folds buoya: calls 50 dakota-xx: raises 150 to 200 gotta419: folds dzedze63: calls 200 LäckBobby: folds momoney0115: calls 150 twotimes35: calls 150 buoya: calls 150 *** FLOP *** [8d Qd 2d] momoney0115: checks twotimes35: checks buoya: checks dakota-xx: bets 500 dzedze63: calls 500 momoney0115: folds twotimes35: folds buoya: folds *** TURN *** [8d Qd 2d] 6♣ dakota-xx: bets 750 dzedze63: calls 750 *** RIVER *** [8d Qd 2d 6c] 5♥ dakota-xx: checks dzedze63: bets 1000 dakota-xx: raises 280 to 1280 and is all-in dzedze63: folds Uncalled bet (280) returned to dakota-xx dakota-xx collected 5525 from pot momoney0115 said, "lol what are you kidding me?" dakota-xx: doesn't show hand *** SUMMARY *** Total pot 5525 | Rake 0 Board [8d Qd 2d 6c 5h] Seat 1: FlopHorror folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 2: Y.S.o43 folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 3: buoya folded on the Flop Seat 4: dakota-xx collected (5525) Seat 5: gotta419 folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 6: dzedze63 (button) folded on the River Seat 7: LäckBobby (small blind) folded before Flop Seat 8: momoney0115 (big blind) folded on the Flop Seat 9: twotimes35 folded on the Flop Last edited by dakota-xx : 6th September 2009 at 1:03 PM. |

| Yea - I understand about the check raise. I just thought at that point it was a fold or a raise - no point in leaving myself with 280 chips. I probably should have bet the river - though as it turned out I got 1000 extra chips by checking. Definitely a busted flush draw - just can't believe he put all that money in the pot and then folded with 500 chips left lol. |

| re: **Sept MTT Thread** poker But there is a point to keeping 280, that's probably what is meant by chip ev, right? More important to ensure survival than possibly add 5% to your stack...especially since there aren't many hands that would call that you have beat (better hands or bluffs bet that river). I guess Adx that paired the board might call, doubt TT/99 would call along and then bet on the end. |

Good job D'Wil on winning that tournament! Only one tournament for me this weekend - that is the Pokerlistings freeroll at Pokerstars. They are giving away 106 WCOOP tickets and I expect the field to be under 1000. I already have one $215 ticket that I will use on Sept 13th or 20th. Another one would be sweet - especially a $320, $530 or.....$1050! Gotta get to the top 6 for one of those. But 7th-106th is a $215 and I won't be unhappy with one of those either. Other than that I will be with drunk Irish friends til Monday night. (and my husband who becomes Irish with them hehe) |

| Folded Jacks in the blind after super nitty player raised big to half allin. | re: **Sept MTT Thread** poker Won a ticket in the dollar rebuy satellite to the 80k (T$55) on stars. These are a really good value for small bankrolls if you can find time to play at 2 eastern. Pokerstars adds 5 tickets to a field that only generated 18 others. Near bubble, nerve racking deuces shove vs raiser that had been putting pressure on shortstacks. Probably should have waited for a spot to shove/steal (or already done so before blinds hit me), but was getting short and liked my odds of flipping with dead money that would secure the win. relevant stacks SB with 44346 BB with 30265 CO with 94490 BTN [Hero]with 10812 Blinds: 1500/3000 Site: Pokerstars Dealt to BTN:2♥ 2♣ Sklansky group 7 Preflop: 3 players fold. CO raises 3000 to 6000 Hero raises 4512 to 10512 [ all-in ] 2 players fold. CO calls [4512] Flop: J♦ K♣ 3♥ Turn: K♠ River: 9♥ Results: titerephil shows a pair of Kings: A♥ 7♦ Hero shows two pair, Kings and Deuces: 2♥ 2♣ Hero collected 27624 from pot. Hand that ended it, super shortstack on big blind spared when healthy stack shoves over limpers and gets KO'd by rags. Last edited by D'wilius : 5th September 2009 at 5:44 PM. |

Last/this weeks results on FT added.... and I won the CC-Bodog FR last week, cashed in the UB CC freeroll, too. Funnily I completely sucked at the sats to the DD - but I think I can shrug that off. |

| I think the term donkament should only be used to describe tournaments with buyins <$5. You simply cannot call >$5 tournaments donkaments when they require considerable skill to be profitable in any meaningful sense. Most people that frequently use this term to describe MTT's are simply players that do not understand how tournament play differs from cash. |

| re: **Sept MTT Thread** poker I haven't been fairing so well on the tourney front, my best finish so far this month was 113th place with a field size of 6718. I seem to find when I want to make a move I almost always choose the wrong time which ends up crippling me or costing me my stack. |

| i dont play many multi table tourneys. i neither have the time nor the patience. I played the cc pokerstars deepstack on sunday - the structure was nice (lots of room for manouever ) but the lenght of time it took nearly drove me batty. i just dont think i can concentrate for that long. i dont think i have the patience to play for hours and only make a few cents above buy in. obv my mentality is not suited to mtt. i respect those who can mtt with rgularity. How do you get the time or the space in the day not to be interuppted? |

| I am fortunate that I don't have a real job and Joe is at work during the day. With no kids it is just me and the dogs. I try to workout and run any errands in the morning and I play my tournaments in the early afternoon. When Joe gets home he works out and showers. If I am still in a tournament by then it means I am itm - so he doesn't mind that I am still playing. I walk the dogs right before I start - and with the synchronized breaks now I can take them out for a few minutes every hour. Unfortunately for my poker most days I am done by the time he gets home lol. My life is tough. |

| I've been playing mainly the $3 and $6 KO 90-player tourneys on Full Tilt lately, and been hitting a couple of satellites for the MiniFTOPS tournaments (won entry to the MiniFTOPS Event #1 on Wednesday, and the MiniFTOPS Event #8 on September 13 - I ended up unregistering for the MiniFTOPS event that was $10+$1 rebuy tournament that I won entry to), and satellites for the $20 tournament (Bring $22 and a dream tournament) on Sundays, which I have been hitting every other week. Every once in awhile, I'll jump into a large $10 tourney, and that's something I shouldn't be doing while on a downswing, lol. Lately, I've been on a bit of a downswing, trying to get that back up. I think it has something to do with the lack of playing live lately. I haven't played a live game in about 3 months. Been playing all online, and though, I do enjoy playing online, it's much more fun for me to play live. And it's easier to get tells, lol. |

| Geez... you guys are so lucky. I finally had a day off from both school and work on Monday, so I threw a good chunk of my BR at a $2.75 7K guaranteed MTT on Stars and ended up taking down 141st place for $33 and change. Just think if I had a lot of time on my hands what I could do? Wait... nevermind, don't answer that. |

| re: **Sept MTT Thread** poker LoL, nice run jazz. I play that one sometimes too...and the miniftops sats like mortis. rebuy satellites may turn out to be most profitable form of poker for me. I'm decent at going deepish/survival poker and stealing late game rather than chip accumulation/taking first place...so they are much more suited for me than regular tournaments. Also, you play less rake on your investment since the rebuys aren't raked, and if I rebuy to start and addon, almost always have ~average stack+ after the rebuy period, with higher ratio of ticket value to investment than players left to players paid. I've only played ~15 for ~$30 investment so far, but have cashed 6 for $176 in prizes (only a few this month). Not going to claim that's sustainable, but its not just a lucky run as I get close or in good position anytime I rebuy to start and addon. I've tried to make it on just the original buyin a few times and that's not a good idea. I failed in my next attempt at that $55 ticket when I spewed most of a 55bb stack with bottom two pair on bb limped flop 'special' when half the field was already gone and I could have easily just played small pots/stolen blinds until near the bubble.
