I have set this rule for myself when I play tournys at Full Flush, or any other site if I have money on there. Just say it's $200 GTD and it cost $1.65 in all to buy in. Ok as soon as I get below 2000 chips I rebuy. Ok that's $3.30 and if I can't get to the first break, I'm out of the tourny. Because to get $6.60 back I have to get at least 10th and that's not easy. Ok if I get to the break, I add on if the 4000 will give me at least 10,000, because the blinds by then are 100/200 or 200/400 in a turbo and those blinds will eat up your stack quick if you are not catching any cards. Does that make any sense?

If I were you I would limit yourself to a double buy + addon. Also, double buy when you first sit down. It gives you an advantage at the tables, in many different ways.
