Reading Playes Tips I read in here about watching the other players and see the way they bet to take advantage of them. Are there any quick tips of things to look for? I have noticed a couple specific quirks about players I play with, but it usually takes hundreds of hands and that is only a few players. Are there things to look for that you can spot faster?

Are we talking live or online? If online, bet timing is pretty much the only 'tell' you have. If live, this thread is a really good read.

I'd have to agree with jaymfc. The timing "tells" online are far to unreliable. They can be caused by all sorts of different things. Only a very few of which are going to give you any valuable information about your opponents hand. The only thing that will give you much information is bet sizing. More inexperienced players will have certain tendencies when they bet their hands. Some people will always check raise when they have the obvious nut flush draw, someone one may bet 3/4 pot every time with and over pair. Someone may bet 4bb instead of his usual 3 with AA. These are just a few but there could be tons more. It can take a good while with playing someone and watching what they do before you can reliably notice something. The best way to get better here is to take notes, and take a lot of them. After a while you'll start to see trends in what some people are doing.

re: Reading Playes Tips poker Online is really situational and hard to back up more than 'i had a feeling.' Best I can say is at micros when they're shoving when you check to them, a lot of the time they dont have very good hands, even if their hands do beat your own. Also if someone keeps shoving preflop from position when the blinds are high and they're medium stacked, that probably means they're probably just picking up the blinds with 'okay' hands like Ax, small PPs and suited connectors.
