| Rebuys can be very frustrating. As you saw, people tend to be VERY loose till the end of the rebuy/add on time limit. My advice for these is similar to a free roll, TIGHT. Don't be chasing those straights, flushes (especially the little ones). Wait till you HAVE a hand, a premium hand, and then start building your pot. You WILL get action almost every time till the Rebuy time is up. Hope this helps |

| I won a few of the 1 dollar rebuys when I used to play them on UB and it seems like a very loose freeroll at first. My most succesful strategy was to buy in for the max and push in any premium hand regardless of position (they will generally give you action). If I won great if not rebuy again. If I picked up enough chips at first 12K to 15K I shifted gears down and waited for break , bought the add-on and went about my play like any tournament. You will notice a real rush of play and some odd play right before the rebuy period ends , people will dunp 100+ chips and fold just to get below rebuy threshold . Then others that didn't stack up make a last frenzied effort. This time period can be profitable if you hit some great cards but costly if you force it. In the begining description I mentioned jamming any premium hand but neglected to mention fold anything else. Hope this was of some use to you GL. | Basically you want to try to build a stack to 5k+. At times, you gotta give action to get action. Great thing about rebuys, you're usually sitting on the same table with the same players for the first hour... so chips you donk off are basically 'on loan'. It's ok to donk some off & get a bunch of chips on your table.. unless you're sitting with a bunch of NITS. |

| I tend to stay away from unlimited rebuy tournaments, because people do play them as if they were freerolls, and small ones. But if you are willing to give them a try, take into account that you will most likely be making rebuys as them, and also should get the addon. Just after the first hour, the tournament really starts, so you won't know for sure how much money you'll be spending at a given R+A tournament. |

| Best way to play tournaments like this is to play big money hand. Playing lots of suited connectors and pocket pairs early when the blinds are low. Your goal here is to flop monster draw, set, or made hand better than a pair or two pair. If you can flop a big hand early more ppl will be inclines to call you with little value because they can always re buy. If you are willing to re buy a few times then just get it in with any live cards and play for a double up. At low stakes like $1/$2 buy in people will get it in with anything so either you pick up a made hand which may be tough to come around unless you are running good or just get it in early and hope for the best then play more conservative once you get your double or triple up. |

| You should absolutely not be playing tight early on in rebuy tournaments unless you want to let everyone else have advantage over you when the rebuy period ends. You should go into a rebuy tournament knowing that you are willing to spend another 5-15?BI's on rebuys. You want to get your money in with much more marginal hands than usual because you're just looking to build build build. Also, if you are playing a rebuy and don't do an initial double buyin or if you don't take the addon at the end of the rebuy period, you are automatically labeled as a huge donk because you obviously don't know how to play rebuys. If you're looking for something a little more solid, here is the CardsChat article on how to play rebuys: http://www.cardschat.com/rebuy-tournament-strategy.php Not sure if it's outdated at all, I haven't read it in a LONG time, but I'm sure most of it will still be applicable. |

in most rebuy tournies online, the addon is bigger than the rebuy for the same price. this means it offers more chips per cent, and is therefore better equity. so your main aim in every rebuy tournament should be to make the addon period as cheaply as possible and then play from there. planning on going through 5-15BI taking marginal spots seems foolish - you should be playing your own game, and given the number of games you can play online passing up marginal spots would be foolish anyway so you'll be taking no more spots than you would be anyway. that doesn't mean be an uber nit, but at the same time you shouldnt be going crazy because you can rebuy - you should be adjusting your own equity calculations to take into account the wider ranges of your opponents, so stuff like getting TT and JJ in pre for 100bb becomes more standard |

| If you look at a lot of the rebuy regulars(well, back at FTP and PS when we were allowed), many are right at about 9 BI's as an average per rebuy tourney. I guess one area where I may have been misunderstood is when I said marginal hands. I wasn't meaning open shoving with stuff like JTs, but rather your 99, TT, JJ type hands that you would normally fold to an Allin with in a normal structure. |

| I always wondered what the angel of death looked like. Then one night I felt it. A tightness in my chest turned to shooting pain. Shooting straight down my left arm. I staggered and reached for the phone... As I fell on the floor feeling like this would be it for me. I could hear him approaching. Coming to gather my soul. And as I looked up through the fog of my fading seconds, there he stood in all his fearsome glory.. The rebuy tournament. |

| re: Re Buy Tourneys poker LOL - my first and only rebuy. Got stuck at an Indian Casino is south Colorado as my flight got canceled. Unlimited rebuy until first break is over (only $10 rebuy). Actually I didn't even know it was unlimited. My only experience was online and you couldn't rebuy unless you were under starting stack. My Broadway got taken out by a flush just before break so I figured what the hell - laid $10 down a chipped up again. Thnen the break hit and guys are pulling $100 bills out of the their pockets and getting mounds and mounds of chips. Holy crap!!!!! First decent hand I shoved and was out within a few minutes after break. Quote:

| When you get big hands early, you love these. If not, then you can blind down pretty quickly. Just go all in when you have a strong hand, and hope it holds up. If you get pass the first hr with a big stack, you are in good shape. Then it's time to start playing. |

| negreanu was a strange case tho iirc - pretty sure he rebought as many times as possible on purpose so he could get a ton of chips in circulation on the table and win them back after rebuys had ended. wouldn't work for non-pros who get moved tables more often i imagine, and especially not online |

I find in some online rebuys you're often on the same table for the entire rebuy period.. especially in smaller -field ones (not in the massive field ones). |
