Anyone know where i can learn the hand strengths to razz like you can get for Hold em' so two pair beats a pair whats the hands for razz likes 2,3,4,5,6 does that beat A,4,5,6,7 or what?
I think it is a truly interesting game though I like the idea of playing low in stead of high it seems very fun to play but just sometimes dont understand how to know if i truly am going to win So far what i know about razz is that a straight is good lower the better and the Ace is an awsome card to have but i just dont understand hand strengths when it comes to razz Last edited by D'wilius : 23rd February 2009 at 6:30 PM. In your example, 2,3,4,5,6 does beat A,4,5,6,7 because the first hand's highest card is a 6 and the second's highest card is a 7. There is a long thread devoted to razz here: Razz Poker: The who, what, why, when, where, and how of it all |

The table in the post from justinx is horribly misleading for a novice player, listing all kinds of non-playable hands and leaving out dozens of playable combinations. Hands 10, 11 & 12 are good to excellent razz hands. Hands 7, 8 & 9 are playable, depending on what cards your opponents are showing. Hands 1 through 6 shouldn't be mentioned or listed in any table concerning razz. As I suggested earlier, go to the suggested thread and read the posts. There is a tremendous amount of good information concerning the ins and outs of razz. |

As to how "easy" it is, I would disagree vehemently. It may appear "easy" because so many of the people playing it haven't got a clue of what they are doing. Get on a table with players who know how to play the game and then decide how "easy" it is. Anyone who thinks any version of stud is easy doesn't really understand stud. I am of the age group who played 5 and 7 card stud and 5 card draw before anyone outside of a few pros in Texas had ever heard of Hold Em. You cannot compare Stud and Holdem any more than you can compare apples and pomegranates. Very different games. Very different skills. |

re: Razz poker
I don't agree that razz is an easy game. Like any stud game when 4 of your cards will be exposed it leads to a lot of strategy and creative playing. Playing against players that don't have a clue on what they are doing can be frustrating. Your "smart plays" can sometimes blowup because a razz hand can turn too garbage quick and weak hands that should have been folded will sometimes catchup.
